THE FOLLY OF IMPRACTICAL IDEALISM

THE FOLLY OF IMPRACTICAL IDEALISM

The problem with Gandhiji's words are that they are clearly individualistic spiritual affirmations that bear not much practical value in a brutal world ruled by realpolitik. Following such fractional philosophy has been our nation's undoing and it is high time we relegate it to archival safety for the deliberations of future historians. The world is as yet unripe for the appreciation of such noble idealistic thoughts and their practice in the real world will inevitably lead not only to miscarriage of their intent but also to the destruction of the motherland at the hands of barbaric forces as has already been evident in Partition and its subsequent developments in the subcontinent and beyond.
