The intellectual west-oriented Indians are a rootless mass who have lost their spiritual moorings in the nation's heritage and have neither been able to absorb the very best of western culture which teaches patriotism, nationalism and loyalty to one's own tradition. Such is the hapless state of these half-baked individuals suspended between cultures, a hybrid of cross-fertilisation with all the weaknesses of the cultural fault-lines induced into their systems and their inherent characteristics suppressed thus, its fundamental features submerged beneath superimposed ideas that are neither well-assimilated nor creatively redefined along indigenous lines, a la Japanese style. And when these children of Macaulay proceed to redefine our civilisation, the result is significant damage to our cultural cause as had been intended by their infamous alien forefather in the notorious Englishman.
It is time, therefore, that the proponents of the western destructive imposition on Indian cultural values be met in adversarial terms by the proponents of the Indian cultural ethos and the resulting tussle will surely set seal on this alien misadventure and reaffirm the sublimity of the ancient Indian civilisation. Unto this end we must work and we must defeat the forces that intentionally or unwittingly alienate us from our roots in history so that we may remain culturally colonised even after we have successfully driven out the colonisers from our shores in body. This agenda of mental enslavement must be defeated in much the same way as we defeated the forces that had bound us in physical fetters. This is our independence struggle redefined in the modern context and we have to wage it successfully to rescue our motherland from this, a far more pernicious enslavement.
