THE SIMPLISTIC SOLUTION AND ITS FAILURE TO FRUCTIFY

THE SIMPLISTIC SOLUTION AND ITS FAILURE TO FRUCTIFY

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama oversimplifies life and arrives at simplistic solutions which have never worked nor will they ever till the fundamental character of the human being is raised to a higher level of evolution, as Sri Aurobindo suggests. But to my mind, even then, the dual nature of the world remaining as it is, the opposite characteristics that constitute life will continue to be and such things as global peace, harmony of beliefs and faiths, tolerance, compassion en masse and the like will never be to the exclusion of their reverse features. The wave raised at one point will sure create a hollow in the next phase, to quote Swami Vivekananda, and such idealistic hopes as His Holiness harbours will remain unrealised dreams, untruths in principle and, hence, not fructified in real terms. The problems of the world are deeper than meets the eye and they are to be solved continuously partially and never wholly for it goes against the basic scheme of things, the fundamental feature of dualism, to do so.
