Much of what goes on in the name of western democracy is imperialism of the worst kind. Democracy at home and expansionism elsewhere. What is meant by national interest often does not subscribe to international norms of harmonic living but is a violation of the interests of weaker nations. This gross misconduct is the hallmark of the powerful nations as they operate singly or in league to 'protect' their interests in other people's lands and with impunity go about with the fulfilment of their master plan of neocolonialism. How do the weaker nations react? Modern guerrilla warfare --- terrorism. Well, this is a narrative offered by them in defence of their action often but there are more sinister motivations on both sides. The domination of capital, camouflaged race war, age-old religious agenda and plain imperialism that is the brutal hangover of the human historical past, these dictate the course of the world's events today. There is but one law --- might is right, come what may. But how long?
