EMPLOYMENT THROUGH HEAVY INDUSTRY A FLAWED MODEL

EMPLOYMENT THROUGH HEAVY INDUSTRY A FLAWED MODEL

The unemployment problem in India is simply not possible to tackle through large-scale industry which provides far less jobs in an age of increasing mechanisation. Agriculture and cottage industry will yet be the way out as they offer larger number of labour intensive jobs. This does not mean in any way that industrialisation must stop or even slow down but it only is a clarification on the employment problem. Moreover, a vast number of jobs may be created in the service and entertainment sector but they will have to be sustained by a growing economy based on wealth creation through industry and agriculture.
