THE FIRST AND THE LAST SIKH GURU
We owe a lot to Guru Nanak Devji for the resistance to Islamic conversion in North India by the revival of the true spirit of the Sanatan Dharma there after significant inroads had been made by Islam through force, and we a lot to Guru Gobind Singhiji for the resistance to Islamic rule thereafter when fanatical persecution by the Muslim rulers was threatening the very life of Hinduism in the long run. The seminal Sikh contribution to our defence forces today is a direct consequence of the legacy of the great tenth Sikh Guru, one of the greatest heroes ever born on this soil of Bharatvarsha.
