VANDE MATARAM
We must once more start chanting 'Vande Mataram' for it was the life-call of our revolutionaries, their death-defying victory chant as they gleefully gave up their lives on the scaffold. To appease the Muslims who refuse to chant on religious grounds this national call and, so, relegate the mantra to disuse is foolish as it can very well be chanted by the Hindus, and those that wish to be exempted from it may well be afforded the exemption. Hence, on an informal basis with nothing mandatory about the call, let us once more spontaneously gear up to the call of our motherland and unitedly chant, 'Vande Mataram'.
