One of the greatest patriots, Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee lives on in hallowed memory as the one who saved West Bengal from getting absorbed in Pakistan and as the one who dared the Nehru-Abdullah understanding on Kashmir. That he paid the price for it with his life is one of the darkest chapters of the Nehruvian dispensation. That there are so many ignorant people here who still denigrate the great patriot is proof of the fact that today Bengal no more leads the rest of India but is a miserable follower and thinks today what India has thought yesterday.
