'CHALO DILLI' ... 4

October 21, 2018 will mark the 75th anniversary of the formation of the Provisional Government of Free India whose Prime Minister, Minister of War and Foreign Affairs was Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. It is pertinent for all of us to get ready for the occasion and celebrate it in right earnest.

A movement to march to Delhi, the 'Chalo Dilli Movement' has already started. We who are the ardent followers of Netaji must join this and help bolster the cause of the resurrection of the patriot premier of our freedom struggle and his gallant comrades in government and in his army, the Indian National Army. We cannot allow this day to pass unnoticed and must do everything to promote the cause by writing, sharing and commenting relevantly on the issue on social media, thus building up the momentum to such a feverish pitch that the Government of India takes notice of it and does something by way of recognising the significance of the day. Parliamentarians who are followers of Netaji must provide the lead in persuading the GOI to fittingly celebrate the day and the succeeding year. There are certain demands that the 'Chalo Dilli Movement' has made which must be pursued to fruition. I exhort all like-minded men and women to join in this patriotic cause and with their efforts portray before the world at large the sterling achievements of the INA and its Godlike leader but for whom we would have been in colonial bondage for God only knows how long.

The fact that Netaji could not make it back home after the Second World War cost us dear. It precipitated Partition and achieved the abominable Dominion Status for our motherland, now mangled and mutilated with millions of her children slaughtered through fratricidal violence in the name of religion. Netaji's vision of independence was quite apart from what we supposedly received from our erstwhile British masters that has kept us in a state of semi-colonial servitude, at least psychologically, ever since 15 Aug, 1947. It is high time that we project his national and international ideals through systematic propaganda to outweigh and overcome the historical heresies that have been committed by the powers that be over the past seven decades which have well-nigh erased Netaji and his comrades-in-arms from the historical narrative of our freedom struggle and from mass memory as such.

Our country faces multiple challenges because of its extremely large diversity that ever threatens its sustained integration. It is Netaji and his spiritual mentor Swamiji who can provide us the way to our unity and integration as a nation and help direct our course towards our true destiny as a spiritual civilisation that has ever been the hallmark of our ancient culture. The date 21 Oct, 2018 thus assumes the greatest significance and only scholars and savants, sages and saints imbued with this thought of our national regeneration will be able to fully grasp its comprehensive consequence on future world history. For us, ordinary mortals, it is best to follow in the footsteps of the great ones and dedicate ourselves to the fulfilment of their aspirations for our beloved motherland and, thereby, the resurrection of the sleeping divinity in the whole of humanity. Chalo Dilli ! Jai Hind!
