NETAJI, DEAD OR STILL ALIVE? (UNFINISHED)

None of the participants in the discussion can speak clearly and in focus. Only the anchor is simply brilliant in her way of interviewing these clouded conversationalists. But for her exquisitely intelligent moderation, this discussion would have completely fallen apart, making it an exercise in futility and an absolute waste of time. The problem in this discussion is that it borders on the ridiculous at times with wild irrational assertions of Netaji's being alive still, simply because there has been no announcement from any reliable quarter or international governmental agency that a former Head of State has passed away. It is simply a foolish argument to suggest that a disappearance can never end in an expected natural death at the age of 118 years in 2015 when the video interview of the panellists was presumably shot. Throughout history there have been cases when the body of one who has disappeared, has not been possible to trace but who has, nonetheless, on grounds of sanity, been accepted later to have died. But evidently it seems that the devotees and followers of Netaji will not their leader such a privilege of final repose and, despite their not being able to furnish before the people tangible evidence that he is alive, they will keep fanning up the flames of life in the hero when the reverse possibility of his natural death has been accepted even by Justice Manoj Kumar Mukherjee on grounds of common sense. It is so fascinating to see the sweep of human preferential acceptance of viewpoint when the devotees of Netaji accept Justice Mukherjee's positing that he was hundred percent sure that Gumnami Baba was Netaji but in the same vein they reject his assertion that Netaji owing to old age must have died a natural death, for that was the most sensible thing the retired judge said that he was inclined to believing. While there seems to be no way to know what finally had happened to Netaji till all national and international secret files on him are declassified, to aver one way or the other as to his continued temporal existence till date would be to venture into the realm of fantasy more than even fiction. Fact it is that the Mukherjee Commission Inquiry has rejected the Air Crash Theory of Netaji's death and the Government of India has arbitrarily rejected the Commission's findings without allowing either Parliamentary debate on it or continuance of the Commission to complete its unfinished business in the light of the fact that its findings contradict those of the earlier two government sponsored investigations, namely, the Shah Nawaz Committee and the Justice Khosla Commission. This then is the situation regarding a gentleman who was supremely rational, spiritual to a fault, pure as snow and as sharp as a hundred sleuths put together, who through the twists of fate--------

When you make a programme, do not call an expert (Keshab Bhattacherjee) along with a novice (Krishna Sen) knowing almost nothing pertinent to the subject under discussion. It spoils the flow and direction of the discussion.
