TO MY YOUNG FRIENDS, OUR FAIREST FLOWERS OF THE FUTURE ... 1

Young men must give up this effeminate pursuit of sensory pleasures and take seriously to the study of the revolutionary movement of the freedom struggle. In it lies the future well-being of our nation and their own welfare, too.
This singing and dancing and spending time in vain frivolity may suit other nations that have achieved a level of socioeconomic sufficiency and have a different historical background to cater to but it does not befit our countrymen to do so, for we are in the nascent state of our national development as yet and are answerable to a heritage of spiritual culture whose bedrock is service and sacrifice. The teeming millions die a daily death and the exploding population with demographic dangerous shifts ever threatens our emerging nation with fissiparous tendencies that need to be set right if we are to preserve our much cherished freedom, our territorial integrity and our sovereignty.
It is imperative, therefore, that a fair degree of seriousness should be there in all of you to build your own lives whose collective resolution will be the life of the nation. In your strength will be the nation's strength, in your wisdom the nation's wisdom and in your rise the nation's rise.
So, awake to the clarion call of freedom sounded by that prince among men, Swami Vivekananda, and that prince among patriots, his protege, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Bande Mataram!
