SARADESHWARI 1

SARADESHWARI ... 1

The significance of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi's life is hard to comprehend for she was so very commonplace apparently in her day-to-day dealings unlike Sri Ramakrishna who used to pass into frequent trances and would orate sublime utterances. She had entirely veiled herself from public gaze and it needed her grace for anyone to get an inkling of her hidden depths of personality and power. Remember, the great Swami Brahmananda used to shake in spiritual emotion in her presence and Swami Vivekananda was seen drinking the water of the Ganga repeatedly en route by boat from Belur Math to Bagbazar in a bid to purify himself for he was going into the presence of the Holy Mother who was 'purity incarnate'. The direct disciples of Sri Ramakrishna knew her to be the Divine Mother of the universe but even they could not recognise her divinity initially. Holy Mother had wrapped herself so very deftly in Maya that it became impossible even for her close associates and family members to suspect her hidden depths of spirituality, much less her intrinsic divinity.

But there was one way by which one could faintly suspect as to who she was. Her motherly love flowing unceasingly and boundlessly for all gave her away. She could not conceal her love for all and this is how we can understand, nay, feel, that she is our Eternal Mother, that we are all born of her, live in her and when our play is done, we will all merge in her. May Mother keep us safe ever in her lap! Jai Ma!
