What is bhakti ? It is the intense longing of the heart for the Divine Beloved. One moment of forgetfulness seems an aeon of separation and causes intense misery. Such pangs of sweetened pain at alternate union and separation from the Beloved heightens the consciousness of the aspirant to the plane of transcendental integrated distinctness ( Achintya Bhedabhed ) whereby the subtlest separation is barely there between the divine beloveds for love to be savoured. This enmaddening love frees the soul forever in perennial bond with the Divine.
