RAMAKRISHNA 1

Sri Ramakrishna's life is the living proof of God in this age of scepticism. But for him materialism would have held absolute sway over world thought as the Vedanta movement spearheaded by Swami Vivekananda would never have been to stem the tide of materialism. Although the advance of Vedantic thought in the world, especially in the West seems to be imperceptible, yet discerning minds can clearly observe its silent effect on world thinking. Like the dewdrop that nourishes the sapling, Vedanta is nourishing world civilization and in this age we owe its propagation to that leonine monk, Swami Vivekananda. Sri Ramakrishna had to overcome the challenge thrown by young Narendranath's gigantic intellect which was sceptical of the saint's realizations. But the Master's certitude of vision tamed the young rebel and his divine touch finally settled the issue as Narendranath himself came into direct communion with the divine.
