NETAJI OR BOSE ?

The current trend of the irreverent address of our beloved Netaji as 'Bose' following the Britishers is a proof our utter lack of respect for this leonine soul but for whom we surely would have persisted in our bondage to our colonial masters. This arrogance of our half-baked westernised countrymen bespeaks volumes about the lack of manhood and patriotism that plagues our country today. Manhood indeed would be to revere this heroic son of Mother India the like of whom has seldom been seen in the annals of Indian history. Notwithstanding Mahatma Gandhi's colossal contribution to India's independence, India would never have been free in 1947 had it not been for the death-blow to Britain's colonial ambitions dealt by Netaji's I.N.A. which so undermined the British Crown's confidence in the loyalty of the native Indian soldier in the British-Indian army that Britain deemed it wise to withdraw from India with honour and, of course, with the malicious motivation of dismembering the nation into perennially fratricidal warring units. Had Netaji been allowed to function freely in India as was his constitutional right as the Congress President elected at Tripuri, the story of India perhaps would have been different. But Gandhiji's dictatorial stance post-election of Netaji as Tripuri Congress President altered the course of India's history disastrously. Today, free India follows Netaji's principles of a strong army, heavy industrialization, a planned economy(The Five Year Plans) and the like. Yet, we choose to ignore this greatest of patriots India has seen, whose every breath was for the freedom of the Motherland, and, to add as if insult to ignominy, we dare address him as Bose. Jai Hind !
