ARISE INDIA 3 ... THE RAMAKRISHNA-VIVEKANANDA WAY 5

Concentrate all your forces in worshipping the living God, this mass of humanity prostrate before you, Shiva in the garb of the destitute and the deprived, the desolate and the disconsolate, the despairing and the depressed. Each and every human being is the visible manifestation of the Most High, where seek you the Beloved, my friend ? He is all around you, just open your eyes and see. Who you address as man, did not Swamiji pronounce him God ? Then wherefore doubt, brother ? The Vedanta in trumpet voice proclaims the divinity of man. The Sanatana Dharma on its devotional side is this worship of Man, the Divine Man or the God-Man whose natural corollary is the worship of all men, nay of all sentience. All the devotional practices in our Hindu religion have as their genesis this recognition of the divine in man and its worship thereof but unfortunately, the practice of this golden ideal in terms of the service of man knowing him to be God-incarnate has not been much in vogue due to a lack of comprehension of the depth of this ideal perhaps. Is it a small matter to imagine that right in front of you the person standing is the Lord of the universe, that you yourself are God, that this vast universe is but the body of your Cosmic Self, that you not only permeate and pervade the universe but transcend it, that all space-time and causality is in you, that you are the alpha and the omega of existence ? 18 years in the Bastille had converted Dr. Alexander Manette to 105 North Tower (ref. A Tale Of Two Cities). Countless terrestrial births in this physical form has converted you to a puny human being who takes delight in his helplessness and fails to recognize his infinite spiritual status. However, truth cannot be suppressed for long and this infinitude of your Being must manifest sooner or later. Friend, help manifest your own divinity by recognizing the divine in yourself and in your neighbour, and stand free, free of all the trappings of the dualistic mode, to emerge triumphant over this mesmerism of Maya. Humans bind humans. Refuse to harbour this notion that your neighbour is human. All are divine and deserve your worship, your service, your utmost reverence. These are your objects of veneration, your moving, living pilgrimages. Serve them, worship them, adore them if you want peace and bliss, if you aspire for spiritual liberation, if you wish to know what love is all about. May Thakur, Ma and Swamiji ever guide your steps is the prayer of this brother of yours. Jai Hind !
