SWAMI VIVEKANANDA -- 2

It was the auspicious day of Makar Sankranti on 12 January, 1863 when the babe was born who was the anointed one of the Avatar of the Age immersed now in unprecedented austerity on the outskirts of Kolkata at Dakshineshwar. Dawn it was when the first cry was heard that resonated to the cry of his countrymen and the cry of suffering humanity everywhere. Vishwanath in his exultation gifted away all his clothes till he was left wearing a saree of his wife Bhuvaneshwari as dhoti. Bhuvaneshwari's pious supplications had been heard and her aunt's prayers at Vireshwar Shiva in Varanasi answered with this gift of God Himself incarnating as the boy who in accordance was named Vireshwar. Another name, Narendranath, became officially his good name but he grew up to the delight of his playmates as Bileh.
