The British are a hypocritical race. Do not ever believe in their 'sense of fair play and justice'. It is all a sham. They have destroyed us as a nation and it is time we grow into a self-respecting nation devoid of any connection with Britain with a view to gain on the economic front as in our alliance with them by our remaining a member of the British Commonwealth of Nations. We should forthwith sever all such affiliation and declare to ourselves and the world our true sovereign status. Should we fail to do so, it will be proof of our continued colonised status in some sense of the term and we can surely then not claim to be truly independent. Tall talk by our leaders on international fora on Buddha and Ashoka and Gandhi will not impress any more but an affirmative stance with respect to our sovereignty will do a great deal more towards winning national and international respect. Let every citizen of India work towards this end of attaining self-respect by contributing to national good. Let every Indian manifest that high strength of character whereby the Government will be forced to alter stance and uphold national respect like China does on the internationals scene. May we through our individual excellence make India strong and a force to reckon with in the world !
