CLASSICAL MUSIC ... 1

CLASSICAL MUSIC ... 1

Considering the alarming degeneration of the English-educated youth of India who have taken to 'pleasing' their ears with decadent 'rock noise' which is strangely termed music, it has become an imperative to present before the world the glories of classical music, Indian and Western. While the musically well-cultured can easily keep their distance from such popular pollution in the realm of this refined art form, that is, so to say, from such trespassing into the sanctum sanctorum of music by vulgar invasive elements, the undiscerning rank and file of the laity often are susceptible to mistaking noise of a low-quality harmony for music which by definition must be critically harmonic and never so deficient in harmonic terms. It is to spread awareness among these errant elements of society that the best of art and culture must be presented so that they grow in discernment and taste regarding the finest attributes and expressions of the mind and the soul.
Music in all its sublimity is best expressed in its classical form and the attempt shall be to exhibit such instances as will best bring home such divine delight to the uninitiated. Genuine music is markedly different from its cacophonous siblings who have stolen the common surname and bear but a remote resemblance to it. Here we shall delve into the strong points of the refined art form -- its attributes, heritage, personalities and philosophical undercurrent -- rather than spend precious hours discussing the degeneracy of popular sonic culture that masquerades as music. In such healthful affirmation shall music divine be rendered a service better by far than by rocky denunciation of its coarser pseudo-siblings.
