Marxism is deep philosophy which commoners much misinterpret in the light of barbaric execution of it in socialist states. The explanation of history in materialistic and economic terms alone, eschewing all aspects of lofty spirituality totally and the advocating of revolutionary violence led to the aforesaid inhuman slavery of  the 'saved' proletariat. But that should not imply that Marxism is barren philosophy devoid of fertile contributions to human thinking. It is a searchlight thrown on exploitative capitalism and continues to be the resistance to unchecked human greed with all its concomitant evils of exploitation of labour. People of shallow intellect these days denigrate Marxism unduly without having studied it in-depth, for the common critic is sorely lacking in the intellectual apparatus necessary to appreciate the depth of philosophy and resistive thinking in the body of works that Marx has left behind.
