WOMAN, THE EMBODIMENT OF THE DIVINE MOTHER
WOMAN, THE EMBODIMENT OF THE DIVINE MOTHER
The Hindu reveres woman as the embodiment of the Divine Mother. This is so unlike the Abrahamic religions where woman is relegated an inferior position to man and subordinated with scriptural mandate. Women have in practice been universally subordinated, though, but never with scriptural injunction in the Sanatan Dharma. Where in practice Hindu women have been held down, it has always been by patriarchy which has been in violation of the principles of the Sanatan Dharma. In Islam and Christianity, though, women have been subordinated with scriptural injunction. Point to ponder.
