ONE BIRTH OR MANY BIRTHS?

Is embodied life just 'a solitary sojourn' (quote, courtesy, Einstein) on earth as Abrahamic religions affirm or is it a seemingly endless series of births and deaths culminating in liberation from this transmigratory cycle as the Indian dharma traditions aver? Will a Hindu or a Jain or a Buddhist be born but once? Will a Jew or a Christian or a Muslim be born over and over again? One of these theories must be correct. Now, which one?
