Please do not allow the debate to degenerate into the standard TRP gaining exercise we are so very sick of from the other horrendous practitioner of the trade who has brought disrepute to television anchoring. You, being a military man and an expert in defence studies and a forthright articulator at that, must make sure that civility in discussion allows views and counter-views to co-exist and resolve out each other to a final proposition at the end of the show instead of mere mud-slinging at each other as has unfortunately been the characteristic these days where mercenaries masquerade as television anchors with pretensions galore to bolster their pseudo-nationalistic stances. I am sure you are aware of all these pitfalls that lie along your way and that you will assiduously try to avoid them for your very reputation as a responsible citizen and a foremost thinker on defence issues lies at stake. May God bless you to come out triumphant in your present endeavour and in all such as are likely to follow and may we, the viewers, for once be spared of nightly news garbage thrown at us from a specific source with an alternative articulation, a brighter substitute!
