I, Sugata Bose, am unconnected to Netaji and his extended family, am an apolitical person in every sense of the term, am not a scholar of any consequence nor am I a Member of Parliament and am very humble in my attainments in life, if at all they may be even called so. Over the last six years or so, this false identity that I am an M.P. and a historian and that I hail from Netaji's family has been thrust on me by common folly and I regret to say that I have disliked it every moment.
