AMLAN KUSUM GHOSH -- TIRELESS CRUSADER FOR TRUTH

AMLAN KUSUM GHOSH -- TIRELESS CRUSADER FOR TRUTH

How many lawsuits will they file to stop the propagation of a long-suppressed truth and to what effect? Public awareness has been quickened to beyond a critical level. Now the greater the attempt to suppress, to thwart the surfacing of truth, the greater will be the kindling of public interest with consequent spread of the same. Thus truth prevails in the end with popular support lending audience to it. It is an exercise in futility to any further attempt the suppression of truth for the hour has come when the forces that bear and carry truth forward in its evolutionary drive towards fulfilment in expression have gained a mass that cannot brook mischievous opposition any further.

"You  may not believe in the vengeance of God but you will have to believe in the vengeance of history. And it is coming," said Swamiji in America, warning the British of their impending punishment at the hands of the Chinese who would be the instrument of historical retribution for all the evils of colonialism that Britain had resorted to across the globe. In another context, here in our motherland, Netaji has been betrayed by colleagues, compatriots, comrades-in-arms, close relations and the government which has thwarted the nation of its promised arrival on the world stage as a leading player that would have ushered in peace and international goodwill. The country has thus been robbed of its potential rise as a power that could have not only solved its own problems but could have catalysed such changes in the international arena that would have spared humanity much of the ordeals it faces today.

Netaji has been brutally betrayed by all and sundry save the devoted few who have served him loyally through thick and thin, and they in turn have faced marginalisation, persecution and worse ends which may not be mentioned for the sake of propriety. The patriot of unblemished affiliation to the cause of the motherland's freedom and future rise as an independent nation has been castigated as a fascist, as a lackey of the Japanese, as one nursing the noxious ambition of emerging as free India's absolute dictator, and worse still, the pronouncedly spiritual son of Prabhavati Devi who fell under the spell of Swami Vivekananda in his adolescence as one who had the moral bankruptcy to enter into carnal connection of a socially unacceptable kind in erstwhile India.

The restoration of the reputation of such a hero of modern times who matches our epic heroes of the Ramayana and the Mahabharata in every sense and even outmatches them in places has been your seminal enterprise, Amlan Kusum Ghosh, and we are grateful that your endeavour is receiving public sympathy and support. You have been preceded in this singular mission of upholding the case of our leader nonpareil by many a stalwart who have paved the path for your present success. To them all we pay our reverence, our homage as we lend you our unstinted support. May victory be to the cause that is dear to all of us, the rightful recognition of the contribution and legacy of Netaji, the restoration of his reputation at home and abroad, and the unravelling of the mystery surrounding his disappearance post 17 August, 1945 when he was last photographed at Saigon Airport, an unfinished task which you are bringing to fruition with your life's labour! Jai Hind!
