Hordes of Mohammedan tribes -- Arabs, Turks, Mongols, Afghans and Mughals -- invaded India, plundered, committed hundreds of genocides on the Hindus, desecrated temples, destroyed them to build mosques by the tens of thousands on their ruins, using the very temple material to do so, settled to subjugate and rule, and when they lost power owing to the dynamics of change, partitioned the motherland into three to set up Islamic states on either side for further slaughter of Hindus till they should exist no more. For, to their orthodox Islamic mind, Hindus follow the false religion of idolatry, are cow-worshippers, tree-worshippers, man-worshippers, matter-worshippers and what not, and needs must be converted to the most perfect religion that has ever been revealed, the final and the absolute word of God beyond which Divinity will no more manifest spiritual novelty in the whole of futurity.
So, subjugate, convert and kill the Hindus till peace prevails in Hindustan under the banner of the sole religion, Islam. One wonders whether the geographical name, Hindustan, will survive the annihilation of the Hindus en masse as a converted and a consumed culture. Sure enough, a new Islamic name will be sought to supplant the earlier name in such an extreme eventuality. Well, liberal Hindus, sleep in sinking snow would still say, "After all, what's in a name?"
