MY MOTHERLAND ... 38

MY MOTHERLAND ... 38

Be not deluded by the British lie that India as a nation state has existed only since their conquest of the subcontinent. India has been a nation since antiquity. Only the concept of constitutional nationhood, as existent in the modern age, was not in vogue earlier in quite the same manner but the nation of India was a concrete cultural entity, a civilisational state no less integrated than the modern nation state.

Just as we are a constitutional federation today of so many provincial states, so we were a federation then of an altered monarchical order with quite the same cultural and civilisational bonding running through each principality. And this integrating link was that of the Sanatan Dharma and its spiritual-social culture thereof.

India has for millenia existed thus as a nation state with a common cultural bond and it was this nation of supreme economic resource that the British had come to loot along their European siblings in the French, the Dutch, the Danes and the Portuguese. It was this Hindustan that the Mohammedan powers from the Middle East had come to plunder and had stayed on to make their homeland later. It was this nation state that the Greeks, the Huns, the Sakas and the Kushans had come to conquer millenia ago. It was this nation state with the Vedas as its spiritual constitution that was given shape to yet again by Adi Shankaracharya when he toured the whole of the landmass of the motherland to eventually establish at its four corners four monasteries that would give it spiritual solidarity as a nation far deeper than any man-made constitution of later times would lend it. Thus, to buy the British theory that the Raj gave us nationhood is suicidal for it is capitulation to a conspiracy hatched by them to undermine us as a cohesive cultural entity that dates back into times when the British were but brutes bedecking themselves blue in forests that formed their homeland, the primal seeds of their prospective pernicious empire ages hence.

Way way back when human civilisation had hardly dawned anywhere in the world, India, hoary India had sounded the clarion call of civilisation to the whole of humanity with her tidings of universal fraternity. It was not the French Revolution that did it but India when she transcended even her national boundaries to address the whole of humankind, nay of sentient beings wherever they were, be on earth or in the heavens that eluded the earthly grasp. Nationhood she transcended to embrace the world, and the earth she transcended to gather in her arms the infinitude of the endless stream of universes playing their transient roles in never-ceasing creation. To characterise such a universal civilisation with such a mean political nation statehood, as modern Europe understands, is to ascribe finity to the infinite God and thus attempt glorifying Him. India has always been a nation and far more than that. She has been the mother of world civilisation in its sublimest development, the home to persecuted peoples of other nationalities and the mother of modern Britain which would but remain a backward state of modest means were it not for Indian wealth that fed its rise to political preeminence and dastardly glory for which India cannot be held culpable in any way, though. It is, thus, a conspiracy of the most heinous order to attempt undermining India's glory as a civilisation by thrusting nationhood on it since independence in 1947 and that too as a gift from the British. It is a historical heresy to say so.

Now let Indians understand this.
