The problem 'spiritual giants' face in convincing people to be 'giants' like them is their terrible cowardice in the teeth of political opposition and their compromise thereof to make ends meet. Preaching Vivekananda and running away from the troubles zone in the hour of political ferment confronting them lend them no credibility as spiritual preachers. Hence, they become ineffective in inspiring the discerning individuals and remain the leader of mass mediocrity that has scarce any real effect in transforming society for the better. Preaching is an exercise in futility beyond what one practises oneself. Double standards do not work. There must be transparent sincerity and absolute adherence to the Vivekananda code of courage in the teeth of opposition to call oneself a true follower of Vivekananda and a propagator of his message worldwide.
