THE DECLINE OF DEMOCRACY ... 1

THE DECLINE OF DEMOCRACY ... 1

There is but one way to save this country from the clutches of corrupt politicians and it is the building up of character of the citizenry. When the average man has a strong character that does not fear to hold on to its convictions despite tremendous circumstantial odds that are pitted against it, the nation begins to feel a pulse of strength that infectious spreads to lend strength to the polity as a whole. For this a prime necessity is awareness of one's latent divinity that dormant lies out of immediate use but must be pulled into action to effectively combat adverse conditions that have debilitated civic life.

Politicians are ruling the roost now as if they have a God-assigned mission to fulfil in disrupting national growth. This must be combated by the average man daring to stand up to these wicked representatives to the legislatures and the executive thereof. Ministers are once more beginning to flex undue muscles to curb the freedom of individuals, although, they themselves are utterly shorn of character whatsoever and have no moral right to question the behaviour of citizens before they themselves exhibit a semblance of sanity in public life. The way uneducated and scantily educated politicians are becoming ministers throughout the country is alarming, and more so, because they are utterly devoid of refinement of culture --- what to say, they are just coarse to the core. Pretentious pernicious perverse people are increasingly becoming the leaders of mainstream national parties with like leaders at the very helm and this is dangerous for the future prospects of the nation.

The question arises as to why this should be so and what is the remedy to this toxic state of affairs. But more of that later.
