VIKASIT BHĀRAT IN 2047? ... 1

VIKASIT BHĀRAT IN 2047? ... 1

We need quality souls in India, not the overload of mediocrity and worse that is shifting the demographic balance and ruining public discourse that is the soul of democracy. There is an utter moral bankruptcy in our country today with corporates ruling defacto the nation and the government itself making commercial allowances to them to develop the nation. The deep divide between commoner and capitalist, despite a thriving upper middle class, with doles sustaining hundreds of millions, the ever-widening wealth gap, is by no means a wholesome aspect of a developing nation. The middle middle class and the lower middle class are being pushed down the socioeconomic ladder to merging with the poor and this is certainly a validation of Marxist theory which does not augur well for our country's future. The ever-increasing price of commodities and the consequent rising cost of living is weakening the nation. A nation thrives when its citizens en masse are empowered to live decent, healthy lives free of want. Today, the reverse is the case with a leadership deluded into believing that mere increase of overall GDP will take our country into the millennium. This is a puerile proposition and such chants by the leadership childish prattle which bear no substance. The government must reduce the terrible economic disparity between the rich and the poor, raise significantly the per capita GDP and ensure citizens' happiness before it can indulge in such grandiose posturing about India becoming a developed state (Vikasit Bhārat) by 2047. Inspirational talk, no doubt, motivating to many, but hollow within when one considers the real facts that after all will play out to determine India's future.

64TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY, 10TH JUNE, 2025 [EDITED]

64TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY, 10TH JUNE, 2025 [EDITED]

The hour dawns when one revisits one's moment of first inspiration. At that pristine moment when everything was new and a fresh awakening had reinforced life into things, when everything that was old was renewed in a magical spell of cosmic proportions, one must have wondered at the enormity of the celebrations that Nature had stored for one's first moment of truth. In those baby eyes that have gazed over aeons at the myriad mysteries of Nature were fresh awakened perhaps the cosmic rhythms of life in ripples of light streaming across the vast reaches of forgotten space, of times unborn only to meet familiar terrain in distant kinship, in bonds of old fresh-forged in the rapt wonderment of the baby eye. Who will tell how that first moment was, for we all infer from the reference point of maturer years when modes and methods have robbed the vision that the babe did see at its first inception ?

So it is that I do stand sixty-four summers from that distant day even in the sunshine of that primal morn. Behold I today the womb that held in loving care the babe to be, the arms that held me high over the waves that menacing came like onrushing death; behold I now the peerless love of a sister who ever saved her lozenges gifted in school, for a brother at home and never ate them once in folly ever. Behold I my boyhood days in ardent study and frolic and fun, my growing years in intense thought, metamorphosed by poetic flights till in the high noon of youth the blazing light of life and truth and the God within alters the very form of things and renders all divine. The dream doth break only to reform into a fairer shape and greener meadows unfold before the peeled vision. A clearer sight, a more painful plight, so often is heaven the heart that is, so far yet the heaven to be.

Afternoon it is when the dawn arrives once more in the awakening sun, the harbinger of hope, the promise of fulfilment of unspelt moods, aspirations divine. A rebirth it is and a constancy of soul, the progression unto a maturer self. And then the cascade of living streams, rushing, whirling, rippling through, dainty brooks and cataracts, eddies, fountains, lakes and seas, flowing mass of innocence, they have filled my life with fathomless joy that life itself is ecstasy.

What more to say but to wind up now that benediction be the lot of all that did love me so and brought anew every time the sun did cross my path of old, this monsoon morn that had thundered heavens the first time on, so be it, so let it be ! Many a summer perchance will come in its wake as yet, many a monsoon will herald times unborn, my life to be, many a familiar face flitting by, so many sweet ones bedecking me now, how many more will flow in yet to fill, fulfil the even-moods. Thus perchance will the swansong be, heard even in a fresher birth in distant clime, in unborn time, the self-same fool to jest again in this playhouse of life to seek applause from kindred souls. But the play is on, let's rejoice, lest the hour pass by shorn of fruit. Welcome to all in the mansion of my life, my playmates, my helpmates, my soulmate, my all.

REACH OUT TO THE WORLD WITH VIVEKANANDA ... 1

REACH OUT TO THE WORLD WITH VIVEKANANDA ... 1

6

Ramakrishna Mission should go all out to propagate the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, his lectures and talks, letters and messages. In a world that is on the brink of collapse, both environmental and nuclear, at a time when the very character of man in general is at its lowest ebb, when corporates are bent upon squeezing the last drop of blood of the masses, when capitalism and its pleasure-providing progeny in myriad modes are ruining the very basis of disciplined civic life and fostering nervous weakness in people, inducing them unto sensuousness to a debilitating degree, Vivekananda remains the antidote to such degeneration. Here the Ramakrishna Mission has a huge role to play. With their massive organisational strength they can easily reach Swamiji's message across the length and breadth of the world but choose not to do so which is, to say the least, regrettable. Hope this lapse is rectified soon.

AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL NOTES

AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL NOTES

This is my dream. As a child I had wanted to be a historian. My mother implanted this idea in me. It has remained unfulfilled. What a great and lovely mother I had, I have, shall perennially have! My father provided all the practical ingredients for my future blossoming as a literateur of sorts.

I am simply amazed when I to my delight discover how my mother had apprehended my future development till date and perhaps beyond when I was barely five years old.

MESSAGES GALORE ... 106

MESSAGES GALORE ... 106

2. The Bengali body has to be built up along with the Bengali mind in order to be combat-ready in the military sense. All sensuality in the name of art must be discarded. There is a glory in living brave and dying brave, far more than leading effeminate, sensual lives in the name of soft culture.

3. The internal enemies must be flushed out before we may successfully combat the external ones. These termite cells are eating into the vitals of our nation. And then there are the more violent ones perpetrating regular horrors in their bid to disintegrate India. How many more lives will go on vain, how many valiant soldiers lost while the inner foes flourish and are allowed to do so by way of upholding democratic rights which they will first destroy once they come to power?

'Simple living, high thinking.'

7. A woman's capacity to idealise is matchless. No wonder she is chosen by Nature to be mother. Her unique ability to concretise the ideal, the idea into flesh and form, makes her germinate the seed into sapling, plant and tree before it afforests the world. Woman, thou art the mother of humanity! Thou art the mother of all! Thou art Mother Herself!

8. The man (Swami Ranganathananda) we miss today. But here also philosophical apathy to human suffering citing historical happening is sadly evident. There is a certain lack of urgency, an inability to see things in scale and a superficial appreciation and analysis of historical events and the very nature of human evolution. Of course one cannot expect too much depth of articulation in an interview but depth of personality would surely show up in terms of depth of analytical approach to world events and articulation thereof. A cursory view of things, a distant approach and the inability to empathise enough are predominant features evident here. Also, the inability to catch the bull by the horns, to effectively articulate what needs to be said in forthright terms, stating the undiluted truth without watering it down in linguistic adornment, while making the preacher pleasant, leaves his message moderated to a fault. "Truth does not pay homage to society ancient or modern. Society must pay homage to truth or die," said Swami Vivekananda. This courage that the 'Lion of Vedanta' had manifested in alien, inimical conditions in America and Europe nine decades before this interview is sadly missing in this septuagenarian monk. Overall, though, the Swami is as usual sectionally comprehensive in his approach to the spiritual side of things and his 'matchstick' allusion is matchless. Much to learn from this condensed, if passive to a fault from the side of the interviewee, interview. Ron Martin characteristically excels as anchor.

10. If your heart be full of hate, how will you love your Lord?

11. If you raise donations by the hundreds of millions, pay your employees better who help you serve humanity and help keep up your goodwill. Charity begins at home. You cannot serve society with a heart that is not moved to generosity for its own workers. There is an ethical consideration here which if you fail to understand, you have lost your spiritual moorings. Time to ponder over this pertinent point and adopt corrective measures. I reiterate: pay your employees well.

His worship is best rendered by the blood of the brave and the worst done by effeminate singing and dancing before his image. Stop all this effeminacy and follow his General, Swami Vivekananda, who was valour personified and who bled to his bones to awaken that martial spirit among his Bengali brethren but fabulously failed to do so.

Now, if you are devotees of Swamiji who was the anointed one of Thakur to carry his message, must you continue to fail him by persisting in your effeminacy?

Give me blood and I promise you freedom."

স্বামীজী বলেছিলেন, "Freedom, freedom, freedom is the song of the soul."

13. The Sardars are our national pride. They should not cut off their hair, shave off their beard but should sport every sign of the brave Khalsa after the tradition set in by the great Guru Gobind Singhji.

Shaving off the signs of the Khalsa reduces national might. Desist from doing so. Strengthen your Sardar resolve in the defence of the Dharma, in the saving of civilisation and in the preservation of everything that is glorious in our much-wounded motherland. I reiterate, do not shave off. Rather save that one great, glorious race that has given so much to our motherland, that band of warriors of the Spirit, the Khalsa, and feel absolutely proud to do so.

Wahe Guru ki fateh! Wahe Guru ki Khalsa! Sat Shree Akal! 🕉

14. I feel ashamed of the indecency exhibited on night-time TV shows by both anchor and panelists. Bad advertisement for the nation.

15. Undue aggression is a sign of weakness. The brave are gentle in demeanour.

16. There is no justification for monastic materialism as is evident now. Return to roots. 'টাকা মাটি, মাটি টাকা |' What leaders do, the flock follow. So, lead front the front. Renounce this propensity for wealth-building and stop justifying it as welfare measure. You cannot hide intent thus. Architecture is not altruism, concrete is not consciousness. I reiterate, return to roots. Return to Ramakrishna.

WHITHER JUSTICE?

WHITHER JUSTICE?

Free speech is increasingly becoming a Constitutional casualty. If actual criminals and their political backers go scot-free, and social media influencers are selectively apprehended to execute the letter of the law, then what remains of the rendering of the promised justice as enshrined in the Preamble to the Constitution? After all the Constitution is a book and cannot enforce itself its codes but has to depend upon the administrative machinery to do so. When such a machinery turns malefic and turns upon the lesser offenders with all its administrative might, citing violation of Constitutional clause, when its political bosses at the helm of such machinery themselves violate the norms of the Constitution far more with impunity, democratic civic existence is imperilled and citizens have to curb their spontaneous self-expression, much to the detriment of the very flowering of democracy whose fundamental and inviolable principle ought to be the protection of free speech, the right to criticise and go against established religious and social practices and principles. There are limits imposed on such a freedom but to impose blasphemy law by default when it comes to a particular religion or even religions is to go against the very spirit of free speech. If to offend is blasphemous on the probability of hurting mass religious sentiment, then the time for democracy in its true colour and essence has not yet come for such a polity. Such a one as yet lives in the dark of medieval mindset and must with due rational training be modernised. If somebody offends with the written word, then countering it with the written word ought to restore parity.

The aggrieved community cannot in a democracy impose its blasphemy laws on those outside of its pale. But today increasingly all over the world the blasphemy law is being overtly and covertly being imposed on all. This isn't quite democratic. If a religion can openly preach, even blaring over the loudspeaker, that it alone possesses the absolute truth and that, by implication, all other faiths are partial truths or downright falsities, heresies in the eyes of their 'The God', then that also ought to be deemed highly offensive to adherents of those other faiths. What about the law on that? Must law be enforced only to facilitate in effect rogue elements who take to the streets and vandalise in the name of 'hurt feelings', and, so, must law be enforced to silence criticism of Abrahamic religious principles which are not in keeping with the spirit of inclusiveness that the Sanatan Dharma espouses? Must Sanatanis alone bear the cross of secularism, inclusiveness and all-acceptance while adherents of absolutist, exclusive, fanatical faiths and ideologies can with impunity keep calling our gods and goddesses names and defame our spiritual traditions?

COMMENTS GALORE ... 89

COMMENTS GALORE ... 89

Sugata Bose @Sangeeta Chakraborty : You couldn't follow me. '🕉 Hindu!' is a mantra by way of greeting that I have invented to foster solidarity among our disunited lot. The 🕉, Swamiji said, is the unifying divine symbol for all Hindus which is why in Swamiji's memorial temple at Belur Math we have the 🕉 Temple on the first floor. All Hindus including Sikhs accept the 🕉 as sacred symbol of the Divine with their Ishta Dev/Devi suffixing it. For instance, 🕉 Kali! 🕉 Krishna! 🕉 Ram! 🕉 Durga!

Sugata Bose @Dhyan Maneesha: Correct. That which was a provincial part of eternal Bhāratvarsha must inevitably return to it. Partition was artificially effected. Integration is natural and inevitable in the long run as the inviolable outcome of historical evolution.

Sugata Bose @Sangeeta Ghosh : But rapid demographic change is the danger. Hindu population is declining and Muslim population sharply increasing, creating this dangerous bridging of the demographic gap. Unless this pertinent issue is effectively addressed, India will be Islamised in the decades ahead like its severed provincial parts in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Sugata Bose @Paramita Moitra : Love is seeing oneself mirrored in another through spiritual perception of the same Atman in all. Unless the Kulakundalini Shakti awakens and rises to at least the fourth plane of consciousness, the Anāhata Chakra, where disembodied consciousness for the first time dawns and love and light, bliss and knowledge simultaneously manifest before the peeled off vision, love in its essence is not understood beyond the encumbrance of the body.

The body binds and does not allow the free flow of love which is why it degenerates so often into an admixture of love and lust. Pure love is a bodiless experience emanating from the spiritual heart and has little resemblance to aught of earth if even ennobled in sacrificial terms. There in sacrifice and selflessness of sorts a bit of the real love percolates through the cracks and crevices of this darkened mass of flesh and form, bringing tidings of a higher order of enlightened existence. But that is not to be confused with the Gangā of unalloyed love flowing from the glacial melt of the Spirit residing in Himalayan heights. 🕉

Sugata Bose @YouTube [India Today] : Karan Thapar has the bad habit of putting words into the mouth of his interviewees (here, A.S. Dulat). This is bad journalism, slightly crafty.

Sugata Bose @Ashok Adha : Hindus targeting Hindus are by definition anti-Hindu elements.

Sugata Bose @Shankar Kumar Chatterjee : Not 'cocktail' but 'henhead'. How can you make such a gender error, bring about such a positional dislocation? That is a 'Baganside' surgical strike you have done, I must say.

Few, alas, detect greatness while the hour is on! Most shall mourn the loss when the lady's gone. Just imagine, what an 'aajob collection' (Bhooter Bhobishyot) it would have been had our PM been judicious enough to have sent her on this diplomatic mission (Operation Sindoor) to Markin Muluk! It would have been a literal literary coup. Modi has missed his 'turuper taash'.

Sugata Bose @Imtiaz Mahmood : You are innovative beyond imagination.

Sugata Bose @Shankar Kumar Chatterjee : We'll play waterpolo. Season change, game change. It's a game-changer rain.

Sugata Bose @Ipsita Mukherjee : You have painted it? Just superb. Seems a masterpiece. What a talent you are!

Sugata Bose @Murtaza Rashid : What about the miscreants who death-threatened, rape-threatened her? Should they be punished soft?

Sugata Bose @Little Moorthy Siva : They (Bengali Hindus) are wide awake and busy singing, dancing, play-acting, painting, film-acting poem-composing et al. They will not go beyond this, the Lakshmanrekha of their sympathies for persecuted Sanatanis. They are doomed by their cowardice.

Sugata Bose @Facebook friend : Obviously, since Pakistan was born out of India and a mother is always a generation back in time. 10 years is interesting since Islamic law allows a girl's marriage post-maturity at 9 followed by birth of baby at 10 which makes the generational gap at 10 years, thereby validating Shahid Afridi's stupendous statement.

Sugata Bose @Harshita Mishra : The problem is that people refuse to read real history as chronicled by Jadunath Sircar, Aeli Shrivastav, Ramesh Chandra Majumdar, K. S. Lal, Sitaram Goel, Ram Swarup and several others which are available in print and online but they keep on harping that the real history was hidden to them. Who reads? tell me. History is readily available if you seek it but who cares to do so and read? Mere criticism of leftist historians may suit the commoner in his puerile pastime but does not serve the cause of being educated and helping spread the gained information, not in irrational terms but in a systematic, rational manner for the awakening of mass consciousness of tradition and heritage in historical terms. 🕉

Sugata Bose @Protap Mondal : Come on, be more sensible. Here a persecuted person has made light of his close encounter with death and you are philosophising thus.

Sugata Bose @Swami Nikhileswarananda : Swami Vireshwaranandaji used to exhort the youth to join the Armed Forces. You must also send out like exhortations. Our Armed Forces are short on officers. The jawans are in plentiful supply but qualified personnel are in short supply. So, here's serving Vireshwaranandaji right.

Sugata Bose @Anirudha Bhattacharya : Will have to read up a lot more on Sikh history before I can answer this one. But will not spare myself the effort.

Sugata Bose @Anirudha Bhattacharya : Your observation is a pointer as well, if inadvertently so, that even eminent spiritual orders of our country have forsaken their pristine spiritual principles and have resorted to marketing principles that are characteristic of corporate bodies. To pay employees so poorly by exhorting them to sacrifice due remuneration in the name of offering service to the Lord is downright detestable and is exploitation of human labour that cannot be condoned. I know of several such instances which for propiety's sake I cannot divulge here but which have shaken my faith in the 'spirituality' of these bastions of renunciation. Scepticism could have dawned in but for the saving grace of my discretion in separating order from its founder-preceptor, the latter continuing to inspire and energise me even as I have been compelled to distance myself from the order as such. It has been a sad turnabout of events, given my long association with such an organisation, but one that has been in keeping with the natural evolution of the truth-bound soul that makes not compromise with a collective that has forsaken ideals for the copper coin. 🕉

Sugata Bose @Dhyan Maneesha : Few, alas, few understand Vedanta!

MESSAGES GALORE ... 105

3. Leftist historians, no less their Bengali edition, have done tremendous damage to the true chronicling of India's history. And they continue to do so. It is for us to rewrite the counter-narrative along nationalistic lines without giving it false ideological slant. Truth has its own strength to stand on and let us state the truth free and fair through detailed study, reading and research before chronicling our own version of the way things actually happened.

4. The Atman beholds the Atman by the Atman. It is a self-reflective vision, perfectly subjective.

5. The history of the world is rolling down the ages right till this day in an endless series of cause and effect.

6. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was love personified. Who would have thought that he would reincarnate as Sri Ramakrishna on the very date of his own birth exactly 350 years later, love personified yet again, this time reinforced with a universal sympathy encompassing the whole gamut of spiritual experience that humanity has been subject to and stretching its arms beyond known borders unto the realm of newer experiences unravelled and lived? Mahaprabhu was born on 18 February, 1486 and Paramahamsadev was born on 18 February, 1836, the intervening period exactly 350 years.

Translation:

Hear ye, O children of immortal bliss.

Even those who reside in divine realms, hear.

I have known the Great Being

Whose colour is of the radiant sun

That abides in the realm beyond darkness.

Even ye will have to know It

If ye must conquer death.

There is no other way.

8. Swami Nirmalānanda was a direct We need to spend much more in defence to keep up with China which is our principal threat.monastic disciple of Thakur. He has been derecognised by the Order of this status. Time to restore it.

9. We need to spend much more in defence to keep up with China which is our principal threat.

10. The world periodically seeks war. We are as yet as savage as that. But the question arises: Is this the way to peace, prosperity and progress?

11. Bengal must learn to culturally integrate herself with the rest of India. She must never forget that she is a provincial part of India and not a separate, disjoint unit that should pride itself in calling the rest of Indians non-Bengalis, as if there is such a sharp divide between her and the rest of India that would lend her such a distinctly divisive cultural identity. We do not hear of non-Biharis, non-Gujaratis, non-Punjabis, non-U.P.ites, non-Harianvis. Then why non-Bengalis?

12. Sharmistha Panoli has been arrested. The question that arises is this: How far does freedom of speech and expression extend?

13. Are Hindus even free to express their opinion in a Hindu-majority state?Or, is democracy being used to undermine democracy itself?

14. How long must we suffer from Pakistani cross-border fire targeting our civilians? Blasphemous, isn't it?

15. O strong, thou shalt persecute the weak! This is the Darwinian Principle. But should this be Divine Law as well?

16. Are we allowed to speak uncomfortable truths? Or, ought we to abide by blasphemy laws that by default operate to stifle freedom of speech? Whither maturity of democracy when people cannot digest the hard facts of history and must perforce be made to live in fair fantasy by politicians who gain by driving wedges across society, otherwise well integrated, by citing insignificant instances of breach of civic decency? Who are to blame really? The malicious politicians who scheme out others' downfall and stir up controversy that would never in the first place gain ground without their active assistance, even intervention, or, the foolish commoners seeking attention and unable to restrain emotions preprogrammed by daily night time television ruckus? One wonders how long the gullible will continue to be influenced by crafty politicians seeking petty ends? Millennia have passed and yet the fools suffer the schemes of their Machiavellian masters. It is time to be better educated and to reject the roguish moves of these mass fashioners of public opinion. Jai Hind!

17.

19. Hindus persecuted in Hindustan. What an irony!

20. We are so powerless against fate. Time will kill us all and, yet, we kill each other as if accomplice to Time. Kali! Kali! Kali!

22. Do not reduce love to cellular mechanism. Let its music be not lost in the babble of reason. May art adorn, poetry paint what is lost so often in loaded logic, in metreless prose of a mundane kind!

23. Why does an Indian girl suffer incarceration in contradicting a Pakistani's false claims? Is it because she went overboard with unparliamentary language in her verbal duel or is there a malicious political motivation moving her arrest? Sharma first, now Panoli---the casualties multiply. Where are we headed when our youth are thus targeted by malicious elements to serve perfidious purposes in the name of pretended patriotism whose purported end seems to be to undermine democracy itself in the name of preserving it? #sharmistha

29. Most of our Sanātan sages and saints lie buried in obliterated history beyond the reach of recovery. But their thought vibrations live among us, forging a collective mass unto becoming beacons of light.

30.

'Arise! Awake! And stop not till the goal is reached.' -- Swami Vivekananda

These words of Swamiji, freely translated from the Kathopanishad invocation, are sounding and resounding across the length and breadth of Bharatvarsha, arousing the leonine spirit of the ancient Hindu race unto life and action. They are pregnant with divine energy, the power that Swamiji has come to bear upon us, his legatees, who have been charged with fulfilling his mission of awakening the divine in man, not debilitation in superficial devotion but royal, masculine strength that serves, suffers and sacrifices all unto the ushering in of a higher order of terrestrial existence en route to the Existence Absolute. The Geeta in action was Swamiji, and so must we be, live torches of the Ancient Spirit that must triumph over the darkening ignorance of delusive Māyā. Jai Swamiji!

35. Bengal has fallen behind with its pronounced intellectual pretence which is sharp contrast to real intellectuality.

36. Bengal's rise lies in her adopting the martial culture that is so characteristic of the Sikhs, all of course in the Bengali way.

39. We have to raise the average IQ level of our countrymen.

40. Rising knowledge, valour, commerce n labour welfare in proper proportion are the indices of progress, not so much mere rising GDP.

41. When Hindu girls are targeted by anti-Hindu elements, it is our dhārmic duty to stand by them.

42. What sort of retribution is this when unconditional apology cannot seal matters, and seeks vengeance thus?

#sharmistha

43. Is there no end to Hindu suffering? Earlier it was invaders persecuting us. Now it is elements within who strike us the hard legal blow. Forbearance and forgiveness have been our national attributes. Now no more so with political perfidy perverting purpose.

#sharmistha

44. So many great men and women were born in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Why has the fountain dried up?

45. Cast off fear. Stand firm. Defend the Dharma.

47. Unite against jihādis who threaten Hindu safety and security. 1300 years of bondage have been experience enough. Now no more.

48. Freedom of speech which is so fundamental for the thriving of a democracy is being restricted more and more using those very democratic means. This is autoimmune syndrome afflicting democracy which will kill it in the long run as its perpetrators gain ground with demographic change deliberately effected to ensure this end. This simply is a sinister design that must be resisted en masse.

49. We should have character enough to hold on to our Dharma, live for it, if necessary die for it, but never to give it up. 🕉 Hindu!

50. In defence of the Dharma lies immortality. 🕉 Hindu!

51. Swamiji said that every Hindu's suffering ought to affect all of us and we should try to alleviate it.

54. Insignificant offence, great punishment. Significant crime, remaining scot-free. Divine dispensation, dada, divine dispensation!

55. Getting hurt at the drop of a hat is the sign of immaturity of emotional make-up. Time to grow up, buddy!

56. A good dose of Swami Vivekananda, Sitaram Goel and Ram Swarup can do wonders for Hindus. Let's begin.

57. Swamiji used to detest such effeminate rendition of soft sentimental music.

'My mission is not Ramakrishna's nor Vedanta's but simply to bring manhood to this people.' ~ Swami Vivekananda

P.S. The musical tune has also been conveniently copied from S.D. Burman's famous song

'Bondhu, rongilā, rongilā, rongil re,

Āmāre sariyā bondhu koi gelā re.'

That much for devotional honesty!

58. Here there are fools galore. Wonder where?

59. Would it were that devotees of Thakur exhibited greater manhood as Swamiji wished!

61. Bilawal Bhutto's press conference at the UN was marked by a deep sense of fear of India that Pakistan is now suffering from.

62. Bilawal Bhutto has inadvertently equated Pak terrorists with Pak civilians by harping on the lie that India had targeted Pak civilian locations when India has with film footage proved it categorically that she had only target terrorist camps.

63. Was Bilawal Bhutto looking at a mirror and speaking about India? I wonder.

64. A hammered Pakistan wishes to talk to India but cannot give up threatening her with nuclear war still. As they say, 'Old habits die hard.'

69. "You may not believe in the vengeance of God but you will have to believe in the vengeance of history. And it is coming. What are these handful of Englishmen? Look at the Chinese, millions of them. The Chinaman is the vengeance of history. Once more there shall be an invasion of the Huns. They will sweep all over Europe. Men, women, children---all will go. Once more the Dark Ages will come. What if you Englishmen are thrown all into the North Sea? And you richly deserve that. And it shall not be a millennium till it is done." Then dropping the seer, he said, "Myself, I don't care." ~ Marie Louise Burke (New Discoveries) [For exact quotation verification needed. Quoted from memory.]

75. Your contribution to the nation matters. Work incessantly for the motherland. Strengthen her, empower her, raise her to see her enthroned as the spiritual preceptor of the whole world.

ONWARD AND IGNORE THOSE WHO ATTEMPT TO IMPEDE THE ROLLING OF THE CHARIOT OF NATIONAL LIFE, THE YUGADHARMACHAKRA!

ONWARD AND IGNORE THOSE WHO ATTEMPT TO IMPEDE THE ROLLING OF THE CHARIOT OF NATIONAL LIFE, THE YUGADHARMACHAKRA!

We are progressing fast as a nation. Swamiji's prophecy is proving true. The Ancient Mother is awakening, rising rejuvenated to her feet, never to sleep again.

We have a leader now who is a committed nationalist unlike his carping critics steeped in corruption who have nothing but jeering to do at him. These petty politicians must be ignored as inconsequential to the 'growth story' that is emerging India. They have their meanness to feed their bloated little egos with and have nothing to contribute to the nation save leechlike to drain its lifeblood. But the generations are changing and the baton is being passed on to the aspirational youth who will cast away like dirt politicians who play the rogue's role in the drama that is evolving national life. Hence, hands off these antinationals and hope high for the prospects of the nation proper!

The masses of India are not all in pockets provincially located that they may be seduced into subversive submission by sly dealers selling cheap wares free while buying electoral allegiance in return, but they are spread across the length and breadth of the motherland in active effort for her revitalisation into becoming the preceptor of the world perverted from the pristine principles of humanity and love.

THE FORGOTTEN PROPHET OF EMERGING INDIA

THE FORGOTTEN PROPHET OF EMERGING INDIA

Raja Rammohun Roy was a seminal giant of the Indian renaissance. For him to have been thus forgotten by our nation at large is a shame. He was the founder-father of the modern age in India, the first truly universal modern man perhaps of the entire world, a harmoniser of the East and the West, a junction point in human civilisation. For him to be thus neglected in national affairs is indicative of the fact that we are not truly progressing as a nation the way we could but are only making smaller strides towards progress than we need to to hasten our national evolution. Traditional trappings are still binding us and we need to disentangle ourselves, while preserving heritage and history, to develop faster. To that end I pen these lines tonight with the hope that it may kindle a few hearts and minds to taking up the study of this renaissance man of the then emerging India, this prophet of progress of the yet emerging India. If we study his life, heed his message, we will move into the modern world that much faster and with that much secure step. My salutations to this heroic spirit of eternal India.

IT IS A DEARTH OF CHARACTER, MY FRIEND!

IT IS A DEARTH OF CHARACTER, MY FRIEND!

The problem today once more is this absence of character in people, in leaders arising out of this mass of men, the lack of courage of conviction, the capacity to fearlessly articulate the truth, the fact of things, without compromising content or commercialising end. The problem that beset the world when Swamiji addressed it plagues it today as well. The world is a complex web of contradictory elements jostling for scope and space, opposed forces fighting for resolution. Here, addressing all and trying to place your point will necessarily be either naive or insincere and is bound to be manifestly weak. This is the predicament the leaders of the world face. As it is, most are not of integrated character and are desirous of personal position, profit and in megalomaniac cases even inordinate glory. Their words are weak, more often hollow and lack in the aforementioned 'courage of conviction'. Devoid of sincerity that springs from selflessness and a genuine concern for human welfare, these 'hollow men' fail to inspire confidence in the bulk of humanity as the latter continues to suffer from the iniquities that beset the world. The only way out of this cesspool of perfidious politics, this crass commercialisation of life and love, is to build character along the lines laid down by Swamiji (Swami Vivekananda). Do it and in a flash the world changes! But there isn't a single taker for his words today, leave aside his peerless preceptor, the Paramahamsa of Dakshineshwar. Alas!

UPDATE YOUR WINDOWS AND DOORS, SIR!

UPDATE YOUR WINDOWS AND DOORS, SIR!

Pakistan must update itself. It has got stuck up in 7th century Arabia. But we are in the 21st century. It is 1400 years of updating that the Pak psycho-computer will have to do and that is a tall order to achieve, it seems. From camels to F-16s has been quite a leap in the air but with other upgradations missing, the fall naturally is precipitous each time before the desert dust of victory is raised amidst the fog of war where obscure lies the vision. It is no more Bin Qasim versus Raja Dahir, Sir, nor barbaric Islamic hordes versus scattered and in-fighting Hindu forces. It is a backward-thinking misadventurous force versus the modern might of a unified nation that India today is, and the consequences are predictable and obvious in their inevitability.

The Pakistani Punjabis, perverted from their civilisation by conversion, armed more in greed and the last for power, and held together for geopolitical reasons by the powers that be, rule the roost in this partitioned province of erstwhile India, and it is with their dislodgement from this dastardly base of power that must release 230 million Pakistanis unto freedom. Meanwhile, Balochistan has declared its freedom and must win international recognition in due time.

Pakistan bleeds internally and bleeds India externally. What a perfidy was Pakistan in the very principle of its creation by partitioning India! Jinnah and the British have a lot to answer for. And Gandhi's non-violence, laudable in principle but laughable in application in a warring world yet ready for it! Add to it Nehru's weaknesses, and you have your 'picture perfect'.

WHEN RESTIVE I REST

WHEN RESTIVE I REST

When I am dead and gone,

There will yet be dusk,

There will yet be dawn.

But the new morn

Shall of a leaf shorn

Be whole and wholesome though.

The tree of Life

Will bloom its blossoms

Fragrant fair

Though I be not there

In form, worn and old.

The sun will shine,

New lovers embrace

And say, "I am thine,"

Till they pass too

Unto the morrow

That in shades of sorrow

Beckon a birth afresh

Of youth and vigour,

Life and joy.

So must I move on

Through the vale of death

And the vale of life

That must follow in its wake

Till wide awake

I'll sleep no more.

Right now

In the mist of life,

In the din and strife,

In this fool's paradise

Must I labour alive

And gather honey

Till my beehive

In a deathly strike

Doth break to free

My captive soul

That must wear a form

Ever and ever

Till shorn of all,

Of the big and small,

Of the tiny, tall,

I'll rest in peace

Shorn of work

In a last release

That'll know no end

Nor turn nor bend

But shall bide in rest

In conscious crest

That knows no fall

Unto an earthly dawn.

To such a flight

This song of love

I send tonight

In a final call,

To such a light

That shines within

And beckons me

To quit it all.
