UNCOMPROMISING CHARACTER, PURITY OF PURPOSE AND COURAGE OF CONVICTION MUST REPLACE THE CURRENT CORRUPTIONS IN SPREADING THE DIVINE WORD

We need fiery speeches from the followers of Swamiji to inflame the youth with his fiery message of nation-building and not these namby-pamby spiritless talks, utterly enervating and devoid of the power of higher conviction or spiritual persuasion. The youth need to behold flaming lives of renunciation to feel inspired to sacrifice their lot for the uplift of the masses. But where is the inspiration? They lie locked in 'The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda' but those pregnant pages need effective delivery unto the audience that will enthral them and active them unto higher self-giving. We need character among the preachers, not merely a gentle goodness --- character that can 'cleave its way through adamantine walls of difficulty', of sensate delusion, and reach the hearts of men to melt them unto becoming compassionate instruments for bringing about spiritual-social well-being. Such preachers are a cipher today as the youth hunt for idealistic anchor in vain and drift into sensory delusion by default. Here lies work. We must activate ourselves into becoming worthy channels of dissemination of the message that Swamiji bore unto man and in so doing deliver the youth from this present compulsive drift into delusion. In it lies our reverential service unto Swamiji. And all of it must be done in a manly manner for in that single word 'manhood Swamiji has summed up his life's philosophy and message. This manhood we must exhibit at each and every step of our missionary activity in the name of Swamiji and in the name of the humanity he seemed to have condensed in his conception and in his compressed human form.
