WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA ... 1

WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA ... 1

We must build the nation on the pristine principles of the Vedas aided by modern science. The divinity of all must be stressed on and all administrative measures must be geared to manifesting the potential of each individual towards achieving the larger goal of national solidarity and integration whose corollary is national development. Every Indian must be raised to spiritual self-consciousness through good governance, quality education and effective moral training that will be nationalistic without being parochial.

Patriotism is an attribute that flourishes in spontaneity and never in enforcement. The citizens should be lovingly nurtured to give each one a sense of belonging to the nation. Most Indians love their motherland and few are subversive. Whole sections of humanity, whatever their religious persuasions may be, must not be painted with the same brush and labelled this or that in terms of their affiliation to the nation. This sort of divisive politics is in itself the worst aberration of nationalism and needs intelligent denunciation and rejection as we proceed to build up an integrated polity free of hatred and fear. To this effect all political parties must contribute and, if they do not, the people ought to throw them out of political reckoning. It is an enlightened polity that can do it and that calls for the right kind of education for the generations that are coming and the right discrimination for the adults through conscientious self-effort.
