She needs greater training before she can sing to perfect tune. The voice is good in tonal texture but the singer lacks control of voice and sufficient knowledge of the raga Bihag to be effectively able to produce the desired effect that this most beautiful song has the potential to bring off when given the best of renditions. Yet, through it all, one must say that she has the potential to raise the quality of her performance as she eminently has the aesthetic sense to do so. With perseverance she may, yet, turn out to be a high-class performer as her voice is bold and open, her musical stance unpretentious and her humility touching. Also, she has her swaras straight without undue trembling or attempted modulations to impress, and the dips and dives with a fearless facility. If Varsha Joshiji persists in this sadhana with intense rigour, she will turn out to be an excellent singer in the years to come for she has all the ingredients to do so -- the voice, the age, the aesthetic sense and the humility to learn.
