Preface to the second edition

By the grace of the Master I received spiritual (mantra) initiation, brahmacharya and sannyasa from Swami Tripurananda.
By the ceaseless efforts of revered Swami Tripurananda the biography of Swami Nirmalananda, the disciple of Sri Ramakrishna, had been published way back. Since then many years have elapsed. The publication of the book had raised quite a stir in civil society as the book revealed hitherto unpublished material about many contentious issues related to the establishment of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission.
Through much travail this second edition of the book has now been published. My sincerest gratitude to all who have contributed to this publication in diverse ways.
It is our hope that by the grace of Sri Ramakrishna this edition of the book will be received as well by readers as its earlier edition.
