COMMENTS MADE BY ME TO ENLIVEN MANOJ SIVAN'S POST ON TULSI MAHARAJhttps://www.facebook.com/manoj.sivan.5/posts/10215564813546309?comment_id=10215577060652479&notif_id=1545458416812188&notif_t=feedback_reaction_generic

Sugata Bose : The worst part is that there are so many devotees who have a negative view of Tulsi Maharaj and, despite pretensions of devotion on the face of it, actually harbour notions that he had fallen from divine grace and had heavily strayed from the path of absolute renunciation which sannyas enjoins as mandatory discipline. And they are not much to blame, too, for suppression of fact, fabrication of 'truth' and the release of half-truths to the world can only conduce to the creation of this confusion. I am unsure how far the facts presented in 'History of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission' about this issue are factually and analytically accurate. If there be discrepancies as seems to be the case from the documentary evidence available in the public domain, it would do a world of good for an erudite to clarify each point presented in this historical treatise of Swami Gambhirananda and systematically refute it where it contradicts fact. That will be service to Tulsi Maharaj's case indeed instead of merely being dismissive of this official account of the Mission as a 'smriti shastra' which is secondary to the earlier enunciation of the direct disciples of Thakur which has been dubbed as 'shruti'. @ Swami Sampurnananda

Sugata Bose : As I read more and more of the pages revealed by Somnath Datta, I feel a reverential sense for the Swamis of bygone days and come to understand the real issues confronting the Mission in its formative years. It seems the young monks had in their circumscribed vision, forced upon them by the organisational exigencies of the times, made a glorious mistake in taking certain executive decisions a trifle too early before even the earthly careers of the direct disciples of Thakur were over which led the Mission unfortunately into legal wrangling over the governance of the Bangalore Math. But then these are the imperatives forced upon a developing Order by the very dialectics of development and are thus unavoidable. Also, in a sense, it could have been much worse a scenario if this entire episode had been delayed in its inevitable play-out after all the direct disciples had departed the earthly scene. Then the Mission would have broken into fragments over deferred legal issues in the absence of stringent organisational legal bindings. In that sense the damage done was minimal and this must be considered as Thakur's grace upon the Order. This is in no way to imply that what Nirmalanandaji thus suffered was due to him. He was a seminal monk who ought to have been at the helm of the Mission's affairs right till his end, but, alas, that was not to be. That he became the President of Vivekananda Mission put him at odds with the other trustees of the Math and, hence it seems, he was sidelined from being party to the executive council of the Math and Mission. I am not sure, though, as to why Nirmalanandaji accepted the position of Presidency of Vivekananda Mission in the first place which possibly started the series of misunderstandings culminating in the Bangalore Court Case. Greater reading will reveal more and clarify conception, I hope.

Sugata Bose : This world is a mixture of truth and untruth -- 'satyam anityaa mithuni krityaa'. Hypocrisy here is the byword for life and truth a forgotten virtue. Who cares for truth when power dominates proceedings and God is sought only to substantiate power? Where are the devotees who care for God exclusive of the bounty He is invoked for to shower on them?

Sugata Bose : The best part of the devotees are conveniently silent on this issue and this servility to organisation still is baffling to me.Have we gained our independence from colonial servitude or is its hangover still continuing?

Sugata Bose : This comment thread has been enlivened, but by only three persons. Greater participation is necessary for the worthwhile propagation of the message. A cause such as this, which is of momentous significance, calls for a greater contribution of time and energy by devotees and any indifference in this regard is proof of the self-centred approach to issues with apathy towards whatever does not cater to one's immediate self-interest, and this is regrettable indeed.

Sugata Bose : Somnath Datta is pulverising opposition with authentic quote after quote. It seems he has inherited some of Tulsi Maharaj's leonine spirit. May Thakur bless you, Somnath ! P.S. : From which book have you given these references,Somnath? I will be most thankful if you can procure one, for the cause demands that we access all available information that may be pertinent to it.

Sugata Bose : Unbelievable devotion Narayanan P D Namboodiri has for Swami Nirmalananda. He andManoj Sivan are genuine devotees, uncompromising unsheathed flaming swords that will cut to shreds all perfidies perpetrated against the seminal Swami.

Sugata Bose : Somnath Datta, thank you for your laborious answers in defence of the cause. If we thus keep campaigning unitedly, the resurrection of Swami Nirmalananda will soon see its fruition and those who are thus far misguided into believing in fabricated narratives will see reason in rejecting them and thereon will view things in the proper perspective.

Sugata Bose : Shanmugam Vs, could you please elaborate how we are creating misunderstanding about the Mission. You have labelled a blanket charge at us without substantiating it in any manner whatsoever. I am eager to face up to your volleys and answer you suitably thereafter. Please have the courtesy to reply to the effect requested by me.
