IN RESPONSE TO A QUERY BY A READER AS TO WHAT IS MEANT BY ISLAM BEING A 'MISSIONARY RELIGION' AS STATED BY K.S. LAL IN HIS BOOK 'INDIAN MUSLIMS---WHO ARE THEY?'

'Missionary religion' means its mission is to proselytise, that is expand its fold through conversion. This is why every Muslim is scripturally enjoined under the command of Allah to extend the Dawah (the invitation to convert to Islam) to non-Muslims. This is the foundational basis of the 'lesser jihad' but which is more extensive in practice with all its variations such as jihad with the sword, jihad with the pen, jihad with the spoken word and the much in vogue today, love jihad. Thus, Islam is a comprehensive missionary religion where every Momin/Momina (male/female Muslim) is an active agent of propagation of the faith. Hence the adjective 'propagandist'.

The Dawah is universally practised by Momins and Mominas as mandatory religious act. After all Islam is, as per the Qur'an, the only true faith---Deen, to be more precise, that is, the comprehensive ideal way of life and living in accordance with the command of Allah as revealed in the Qur'an and as practised by the Prophet Muhammad which is called the Sunnah, the Messenger of Allah being deemed in Islam the perfect exemplar of the Deen and the perfect role model for all humanity for all time to come---and must bring the whole of humanity under its hegemony. It is the dictate of Allah on all Muslims to extend the Ummah or the Islamic fold/community actively through perpetual jihad and not passively so. For even passive jihad is regarded as hypocrisy in Islam and such a hypocritical Muslim, who is called a 'Munafiq', must burn in Jahannum (Hell) where his body will be fuel for the Fire.

It ought to be clear by now that Islam is an expansionist socioreligiopolitical ideology emanating from Arabia that is aimed at world-domination through the policy of perpetual jihad till Dar-ul-Harb (the Realm of War where Islam has not yet been able to impose itself fully) has been converted entirely into Dar-ul-Islam (the Realm of Islam where Islamic political power has been fully established). India is now Dar-ul-Harb and it is the bounden religious duty of every Muslim to convert it into Dar-ul-Islam. Hence, you witness love jihad, jihad of the sword (arms and ammunition), jihad of the pen and celluloid (culture war through proselytising literature, and cinema that is aimed at denigrating Hindu gods and goddesses), jihad of the loudspeaker announcing five times a day that Islam is the only true faith and the Islamic God is the greatest, and the jihad of road-blocking Friday namaz etc.

Right now Muslims are in a relatively smaller minority here in India. Hence, they are practising the Makkah Islam which is relatively more peaceful than the more violent Madinah Islam. Once Muslims through proselytisation and procreation achieve majority, they will impose the Madinah Islam which will be a different ball game altogether. Remember the pre-Partition days? The Great Calcutta Killing of 16 August, 1946 and the subsequent genocide of the Hindus in Noakhali and other parts of East Bengal which forced the Congress high command to capitulate and agree to Partition? That was Madinah Islam and that is now in operation in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan in the subcontinent. That will be India's fate too if Hindus do not wake up right now and start defending their Dharma, their culture, their selves and their civilisation by preventing Islamic proselytisation among them.
