WHERE MINDS MEET

WHERE MINDS MEET

Friends across continents, pilgrims of peace and international goodwill, geniuses who left their mark on humanity, beacons in the tempestuous sea of life. Complementary thinkers in science and the arts which in conjunction lend humanity wholeness. And there is the deeper aspect of spirituality to which each had an inkling but not quite the grasp of it. Both were profoundly moved by the mystery life presents and, baffled as they were, they went about their way interpreting it for lesser mortals to get a fairer view of it. They came, they saw but they could not conquer. None ever has in totality of analytical understanding, for the complexity of life is beyond comprehension. It is best left alone till the essence of existence be reached. Then it will be seen that Maya, ever-shifting and ever-bewildering, is out of bounds of the human brain and the pursuit of it is like chasing a mirage for the elusive water in the desert.

In the inter-war years both were deeply distressed by the looming possibility of another war and formed an international fraternity of intellectuals who strove to promote peace and prevent war. But their efforts were in vain. Einstein escaped Nazi persecution in 1933 when he sought asylum in America. Tagore travelled far and wide to seek understanding and cooperation from world thinkers, his travels stretching across continents where he prophet-like addressed humanity with the sane voice of reason and the emotive appeal to love and peace. But history, cumulative resolution of forces that it is, does not respond to such simplistic naivete and unleashed its diabolical forces nonetheless to cause a second cataclysm. Tagore was heartbroken and wrote his epic treatise, 'The Crisis of Civilisation'. Elsewhere, Einstein was horrified by the possibility of Nazi Germany succeeding in making the dreaded atomic bomb with such a scientist as Werner Heisenberg apparently heading the atomic project.

This apprehension about the German nuclear capacity prompted Einstein to sign the memorandum to President Truman about America's need to build the atom bomb as a deterrent. But after Hiroshima and Nagasaki were needlessly nuked Einstein felt morally responsible for life for the harrowing catastrophe. He never recovered from the shock and became a nuclear pacifist along with the likes of Bertrand Russell and other world thinkers. It was Einstein's formula E=mc² that was after all behind the catastrophic release of fission energy on the two Japanese cities and somehow Einstein could never quite come to terms with his decision to sign the Manhattan Project memorandum.

Heisenberg, on the other hand, was widely misunderstood in the scientific world as having helped Hitler come close enough to building the atom bomb and remained a much maligned character for a long time till it was discovered that it was he who was instrumental in slowing down the pace of the Nazi nuclear programme and so saving the world from a Nazi victory in WW II and consequent enslavement to its horrors. Heisenberg was then not only absolved of his past Nazi association but also celebrated as a hero who had saved humanity from barbaric bondage.

Einstein lived to see Hiroshima and Nagasaki and prophesied that another World War would claim two-thirds of humanity as it would be a full-scale nuclear war in all probability. However, he reckoned that humanity would survive its horrors to revive again. But a worse catastrophe lay in wait for mankind and that was the environmental degradation which would surely consume all. Einstein, while working on his elusive Unified Field Theory, died a man despondent about the future of mankind which seemed destined to die at its own hands directly through war or indirectly through environmental catastrophe.

Einstein, an ardent believer in causality and deterministic physics, could never come to terms with quantum probability as governing Nature at its very foundations. He spent the last three decades and more of his life chasing the elusive goal of finding that single simple formula that could unite both Relativity and Quantum Physics, and despite several such attempts brought close to completion, failed to find the missing links that would complete the picture. When in 1955 at 76 years he refused to be operated upon, he died quietly, a man devoted to his doubts and discoveries, a lone pilgrim who had redefined our idea of the universe and changed our concept of space and time forever.

Tagore had died much earlier in 1941 at the age of 80, a shattered man witnessing the futility of human civilisation that lay in ruins all about him. He was deeply spiritual and never gave up hope that humanity would rise up from the ashes of the vast crematorium that the world had become to build anew the next sprouting civilisation. But he died a devastated man amidst death that had become more commonplace than ever before. On his deathbed it was discovered that a teardrop adorned his cheek, this from a man who had never been publicly seen to have shed tears. What this parting teardrop could have meant is for men to conjecture.

A LETTER OF THANKSGIVING TO THAT INTREPID WARRIOR OF THE SPIRIT, KHALID UMAR

A LETTER OF THANKSGIVING TO THAT INTREPID WARRIOR OF THE SPIRIT, KHALID UMAR

Dear Sir,

Your articulate forthrightness is worth emulating but, alas, few have the character and courage of conviction to do so. Their self-interest, self-security in the short run and outright unconcern for future generations who will face the terrors of Islamisation all the more prompt them to do otherwise.

Afghanistan (Gandhar), Pakistan, Bangladesh and Kashmir have seen Islamisation to deathly effect. Now the remainder of that ancient Aryavarta remains to be so. When that is achieved, Ghazwa-e-Hind will be complete. The cowardice of the average Hindu will hasten this process of theological perversion. Demographic change to critical level will tip the balance unto imposition of the Sharia.

History, though, throws up strange surprises and it may be otherwise with massive geopolitical cataclysm perchance deeming a different destiny for humanity here and elsewhere.

China's role here will be vital. How that country rises and tackles the issue, how Europe, cornered and converted by Islamic immigration, responds, how America, secluded and apparently secure, sees it all in the changing global scenario that is tending to a civilisational conflict between the Islamic world (Umma) and the West -- all these formidable factors will shape the future course of things to which India cannot remain immune or isolated from. India's large Hindu population, innoculated by Islam for ages, how it will respond in self-defence is also not entirely predictable.

However, things as of now are seemingly bleak and Hindus must aggressively gear themselves up to secure their civilisational future. Your effort in this regard is seminal, your research and response remarkable and your concern for the future of the Hindus 🕉 and everything their civilisation stands for worthy of emulation as I have at source said. May the God of India's destiny (Bharatabhagyavidhaata) preserve you and yours!

With regards,

Yours sincerely,

Sugata Bose

THE ISLAMIC FATE OF INDIA ... 2

THE ISLAMIC FATE OF INDIA ... 2

Here lies the solution to how Islamisation of India may be prevented and the Sanatan Dharma resurrected to its fullest glory. But the solutions offered here must be duly implemented in individual life and the collective life of the polity.

THE ISLAMIC FATE OF INDIA ... 1

THE ISLAMIC FATE OF INDIA ... 1

Within 50, 100, 150 years India will be Islamised completely unless corrective measures are now adopted. Four parts of erstwhile India, namely, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Kashmir have undergone that process to completion. The fifth part, the remainder of that ancient Hindu India, is slowly suffering that same fate. The critical demographic alteration, if history is due index to, will also help her go that way. Your superb unconcern, silence, support and cowardly compromise with personal gain and security will surely secure India's civilisational demise. 🕉

THE FATE OF THE FAITHFUL

THE FATE OF THE FAITHFUL

The believer's obsession with his faith suppresses his rational faculties before obliterating his capacity to reasonably think altogether. He is then busy justifying irrational faith propositions, turning interim residual reasoning ability into the instrument for his absurd apologies on behalf of his indefensible faith. How strong is this stranglehold of irrational propositions on the indoctrinated mind! Poor aspirants of Paradise, pulverised brains through routinised daily hammering, petrified pilgrims on earth, what a miserable life they lead lying under the heels of Messenger and Master till evolution rescues them perchance from this paralysed state and restores them to health and happiness! But such a fate seldom visits the common consumer of this toxic text and more often than not the bulk of the believers go through the humdrum existence of life chanting the disenchanting lines of loathsome lovelessness. Then comes death with its fear of fire in perdition and promise of pleasure in paradise. No respite whatsoever even in death! Merciful God indeed!

A WORD OF CAUTION TO VILIFIERS

A WORD OF CAUTION TO VILIFIERS

Anybody making a personal attack on me will be summarily blocked without being afforded even a reply. A select few have already been thrown into that banishment-bin of sorts. The strange part of it is that these are all Bengali Hindu brahmins who thus verbally assault me for being a proud protagonist of Hindu interests. And stranger is that there are none who come to my defence, not that I seek or need any such. I can defend myself and my philosophical-ideological position well enough but it is a social pointer of a weakening culture, cowardly and compromising or outright crass as its components are.

O WEST, BE WISER! WAKE UP FROM YOUR SELF-INDUCED SLUMBER!

O WEST, BE WISER! WAKE UP FROM YOUR SELF-INDUCED SLUMBER!

The West is on a suicidal mission of allowing Islamism to have its full play. This is possibly to atone for its historical atrocities on weaker nations -- colonialism, world wars, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Libya, Syria, you name it. But is that justification enough to allow the takeover of their universities and public spaces by illiberal liberals who no more permit free speech that necessarily must sometimes offend Islamic ideology and practice? Western values would deem otherwise but it is sadly changing as more and more space is being afforded to those who ideologically and in practice allow no space to criticise their religion or venerated religious personalities, while shutting down all contrary criticism of theirs. Free speech is being thus branded as hate speech, racism, Islamophobia, all convenient terms to curb criticism of Islam and allow its free flourishing to its exclusive fruition. This is generating what Douglas Murray dubs 'The Death of Europe'.

Has the West lost the plot altogether and is failing to detect the dangerous end to which it is allowing its society to be led into by infiltrating elements whose sole purpose is to subvert their civilisation and sooner or later impose the Sharia? Or, is the West playing with possibilities of a pluralistic society with an ideology that is patently exclusive and intolerant of all diversity once it is in the seat of political power? Perhaps, it is a well-calculated mathematical game drawn to statistical proportions and possibilities that will be allowed to progress along this disturbing line before the reins are drawn in to check further proliferation of such social toxicity. But why in the first place must it be allowed when its subversive intent is so clear? Why play with pernicious ideas, repressive, regressive and repugnant as they are?

Study Islamic history and discover its legacy. See how the Hindus have for over 1300 years suffered at the hands of Islam and continue to do so, then come to terms with the global Islamist agenda. India was force-dismembered by the Muslims and we lost our heritage and culture thereby to Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Look at Persia, now Iran. Where are the Zoroastrians there anymore? They have all fled to seek refuge in India where they still flourish, well-assimilated peaceful minority that they are. And look at what's happening in Kashmir where the Hindus have en masse been driven away from.

Your oil-interests notwithstanding, you must not allow these Islamic countries to foster Islamism in your western nations. If they succeed, your civilisation which is the product of the Renaissance, the Reformation, the Revolution and the Enlightenment will have been replaced by tribal barbarism and the death of life and liberty will have been sealed. O West, be wiser! Wake up from your self-induced slumber!

DIVINE DICTATORSHIP AND DIVINE DEMOCRACY

DIVINE DICTATORSHIP AND DIVINE DEMOCRACY

This monotheistic God is the major mischief-maker. A divine dictatorship is worse than a human one for its overthrow is that much more difficult. It shoots its missiles from invisible realms unto masses of men who are slaughtered.

Divine democracy must displace divine dictatorship. The Hindus have this alternative system, so did the Greeks. And both these cultures developed philosophy, spiritual and material, that of religion and science, in mutual harmony. Let us restore it by banishing this autocratic God to the unreal realm where he belongs. Thus shall we save his slaves by the billions who are in bondage by the millennia and multiplying in numbers and in self-inflicted grief, for, after all, this God is pure imagination of the impure mind.

MESSAGES GALORE ... 26

MESSAGES GALORE ... 26

1. God, if He is great, is within the bounds of comparison and, hence, within the realm of relativity. He is, thus, in bondage to attributes which means that He is not God. Brahman, attributeless and transcendent, is unconditioned by the trinity of space-time-causality and is greater than this relative God who in ignorance is deemed to be great and held by His followers as even the greatest. What a folly in following!

10.

The great literary genius who drew praise from Swami Vivekananda for his epic creation, 'Meghnad Bawdh Kabya', a work which he thought in terms of literary excellence was matchless even in contemporary European literary production. Michael Madhusudan Dutt remains a solitary star in the pantheon of great poets of our country for he shines with a singular brilliance and originality of approach that sets him apart from other great poets.

11. Tribal barbarism must not be given the status that it has today in society. Society cannot progress if regressive religious practices are not done away with. Repressive religions are tribal in origin and will not reform. Men must outgrow these religions and render them redundant.

12. Western academia has now reached a diseased state where its policy of political correctness is eating into its objective of pursuing truth.

13. The Board Examination results that we see students getting every year despite their mediocre academic calibre has made a laughing stock of what even the best among earlier generations got. Cause for serious concern as this will cause a precipitous fall in academic standards in the future. It already has.

14. Demography is working against the Hindus and with every passing decade the census reveals declining Hindu % and inclining Muslim % of the total population. This coupled with the culture of self-betrayal can spell the doom for Hindus in the not-so-long a run. Cause for grave concern.

15. Those who are calling me names for defending the cause of the Hindus ought to see their reflection in the mirror and ask themselves what they themselves are doing to protect and preserve our age-old spiritual civilisation. Such cowardly opposition to this noble cause will meet with the disdain it deserves and I will go about my way in much the way the Buddha has exhorted us to observe the Dharma. We must advance like the rhinoceros undeflected along our course either way.

16. India was partitioned the day Muhammad Bin Qasim invaded Sindh in 712 CE. What followed over the next 1235 years was but the script that would necessarily be enacted given that the Hindus would never put up a united front nationwide to expel the infiltration that would gradually get hold of them till it had dealt them the death-blow. The ordeal continues as demographic shift continuously takes place to displace Hindu culture with Arab culture. Ghazwa-e-Hind is to be brought about to fulfil founder's prophecy. How patriotic is such a prospect if that is the Islamist agenda?

17. When Hindus are at last effectively, if not actually, outnumbered in what post-Partition remains as India, the Sanatan Dharma here will witness its own demise till generations later it will be reborn as Muslims realise the truth of it even as Christians realised the truth of rationality and science to debunk archaic Biblical stuff that was holding them down, courtesy the Church. But the plight of the Hindus in such a scenario of their civilisational death is horrible even to contemplate. One needs only to look on either side across the border of India and within India in Kashmir and parts of West Bengal, Kerala, Karnataka, Assam and other ghettoised provincial pockets, or to cast a glance back at the pre-Partition history of India to estimate the horror that will befall the Hindus. Shall we not be aware of this possibility and take recourse to corrective civilisational measures? We need to manifest character and be proper Hindus. That is the least we can and must do to save our Dharma and ourselves. The prophecy of Ghazwa-e-Hind must be falsified to falsify the entite foundation of a faith whose stated aim is the destruction of polytheistic Hinduism. But will it? Will Hindus unite at last to pull in their might and defend their civilisational identity? Who knows? Far greater courage of conviction is required by the Hindus en masse to continue to survive as a race and a religion, as a culture and a civilisation, as the hope of humanity and its ultimate refuge in a world that is being increasingly fragmented by medieval tribal barbarism masquerading as religion.

18. For 1300+ years in India we have been torn apart by peace. How about that?

19. The religion of peace broke our country into four pieces. They are Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and residual India. How peaceful was that?

20. The Jews form 0.2% of the population of the world and they have won 25% of the Nobel Prizes till date.

21. The Jew, Tarek Fatah writes, is not his enemy. The Jew, I say, is not my friend. The Jew, I affirm, is myself, my very Self manifested as a brilliant being.

22. Sanskrit must be introduced in school curricula wherever political consensus over the issue may be reached. This will raise common culture.

26.

In one of his prophetic moods Swamiji once said, "The world will rise. But, oh, at what a cost, at what a cost, at what a cost!" I have often wondered why he said it thrice thus. Was it because he foresaw three world wars coming? Or, was it just a triple emphasis that came out of him by way of verbal balance?

27.

The one who spoke for the common man, the voice of the mute millions, author of 'Pather Daabi' that was deemed dangerous by the British and banned from publication, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay continues to catch the imagination of the readers en masse across the country, especially in places like Maharashtra where he is a household name, mentioning Bengal being deemed unnecessary as being obvious.

28. They who forget their roots hardly ever shoot.

29. There is a deeper dimension to our being where our intellect reaches not, our soul.

30. If Pakistan is peaceful, the world will be.

31. There is no point reinterpeting hopelessly violent verses of scripture to suit ends. Just reject them and be peaceful.

32. Scriptural hatred of Jews cannot be condoned anymore in this day and age. It ought never to have been thus codified in religious text.

33. Humanity has not begun from Adam and Eve. Why do text-torturing to apologise on behalf of scripture and God who got it completely wrong?

34. Monotheistic people, where they are in the minority, vouch for diversity of cultures for self-preservation, and, yet, they criticise the diversity of gods in the Hindu pantheon to prove the supposed superiority of their monotheistic doctrine. Strange somersault to suit convenience!

35. Western ideas of terrorism are rather strange. The state terrorism the West resorts to on behalf of 'freedom and democracy' is, to its mind, perfectly justified even if it entails the loss of millions of non-western lives as for instance in Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan, to cite just a few instances of western political diabolism, often euphemistically dubbed indiscretion. The white man's life seems worthier than all of other hues. And they daily decry racism from public fora and from university campuses! Pretence has its limits!

36.

The great man dies. The hawks mock-mourn. They betrayed Gorbachev's trust. The Cold War ended the bipolar status of the world only to impose America as the monopole. The tyranny continues. Mikhail Gorbachev, the man of compassion and love for the whole of humanity, betrayed at home and abroad, rests in peace. My salutations to his memory!

37. People whose very smile is indicative of crookedness of heart can never be of much value to progress or civilisation. It is stunning to see how indoctrination corrupts. Even good apples turn out rotten inevitably. The smile reveals it all.

38. We, Indians, must deepen ourselves intellectually. We are terribly shallow in this regard. A rational balance of thinking is necessary which we sadly lack. We come to sweeping conclusions based on imperfect reasoning and quite often archaic mythological assumptions which we deem as reasonable justification for what we say. That, though, goes quite against the grain of traditional Hindu thinking which is rationally rigorous and philosophically profound almost to a fault.

39. The Indian newsreaders of WION are too loud. We, Indians, must learn better musicality of presentation, less of a jarr in verbal output and a finer sense of aesthetics if we wish to qualify as adequate communicators in the world of audiovisual journalism.

40.

America had nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Let none forget America's legacy to civilisation, freedom and democracy.

41. The truly spiritual person is the one who cares not for rituals or ceremonies of any kind. Krishna or Kali does not bother him. He is content to do his devotions to his study, his discipline to his dispassionate work and duty as service to all, specially to the forces of good.

42. People are rushing on. Unto where? To what end? The river of life somehow carries them on unto an unknown ocean that ever pulls, the water mingling and commingling at estuary to become one. The river of life rushes on.

43. So long as you indoctrinate every generation with toxic religious ideology that is supremacist in nature and aims at global political domination, you have little chance of arriving at a peaceful world. Add to this noxious nationalism that refuses to look beyond to universal human interests and you have the picture perfect for a pernicious world order that is destined to doom.

44. Let us spell out Sri Ramakrishna in simple terms. He is love.

45. Free thinking is just a step away from being a true Vedantist, most being misguided believers of the philosophy and no more, their ideas of the system misconceieved and superstitious, erroneous and dualistic to a fault.

46. There is a faultline in our thinking. We are unduly nationalistic whereby we lose our international understanding and appreciation of global perspectives.

47. Little men cannot comprehend lustrous leaders of men. They castigate these luminous beings from the caverns of their self-captivity.

48. The less ritualistic you are, the more spiritual shall you be. Cast off the bondage of archaic superstition masquerading as religion. Know yourself to be the sole architect of your destiny. No God or prophet has ever helped you nor can they ever do so. At best they may hinder your progression and hold you to persisting superstition, fear and bondage. Break free and assert your authority over yourself and over none else. Organised religion that attempts collective control is pernicious and the biggest hindrance to human progress even as individual ethical and spiritual evolution is the greatest help for it.

50. Human civilisation would be far more advanced were people not to waste so much time trying to rationalise irrational, arbitrary, archaic man-made scriptures and instead pursued science and rational philosophy in the saved time. The Abrahamic religions have pulled human thinking down. Greek civilisation was undone by Christianity. Hindu civilisation was undone by Islam. Between the two, they have sent human civilisation to despair.

51. Scientists do not seek the support of religious personalities to establish the veracity of science. Why do religious people seek the support of quotes from eminent scientists in their bid to establish the veracity of their religious beliefs? Why do Christianity and Islam require Aristotle's philosophy to defend their propositions of faith?

52. Man created God in his own image, then surrendered his faculties to enslave himself to his own creation.

53. Adam and Eve our original earthly parents because of their original apple-eating sin? Rubbish! Mythology at its simplest, fine literature but utter imagination and structured falsity thereof.

54. If you want your children to excel in studies, be less loud at home. Futile talk frustrates the future, shatters hopes, renders sprouting seeds sterile.

55. We are caught in a web of words. We enter with the 🕉 and we exit with the 🕉. In between we are trapped in a forest of words, in the meandering alleyways of language. Scriptures, lectures, preaching, conversation -- all these hold us perpetually in verbal bondage from which there is seemingly no escape. War is fought on words and peace is restored through words. It is words that hold and words that deliver. Words, words, frothy words everywhere. Words, words, foul web that robs our freedom.

57. Nuclear proliferation is inevitable in a technologically advancing world despite nuclear non-proliferation treaties. Death lurks ahead for humanity en masse.

58. When man suffers, he suffers alone. Nor God nor man comes of help. But time heals. This is the hope that times kills as well, the cessation of suffering.

59. One life is so much suffering. Who wishes to be reborn?

60. āĻ¨িāĻœেāĻ° āĻ§āĻ°্āĻŽ āĻ¨িāĻœে āĻ—āĻĄ়ুāĻ¨ | āĻĒāĻ°েāĻ° āĻ¤ৈāĻ°ী āĻ§āĻ°্āĻŽ āĻ•েāĻ¨āĻ‡ āĻŦা āĻĒাāĻ˛āĻ¨ āĻ•āĻ°āĻŦেāĻ¨? āĻ†āĻ¤্āĻŽāĻ¨িāĻ°্āĻāĻ°āĻ¤াāĻ° āĻāĻ° āĻšাāĻ‡āĻ¤ে āĻŦāĻĄ় āĻ¨িāĻĻāĻ°্āĻļāĻ¨ āĻ•িāĻ‡ āĻŦা āĻ†āĻ›ে?

61. Culture should liberate us, not enslave us. Think radically along new lines. Be original and enhance culture.

62. Once more we need a wide variety of divergence in both spiritual and material thinking for the flourishing of our civilisation. No single system of thought ought to lay claim to exclusive possession of the Truth.

63.

There is no more radical a system of thought than the Advaita Vedanta propounded by Adi Shankaracharya which denies the very existence of the phenomenal universe which in effect means the denial of the very individual self which seemingly denies it all. But its rationality is clear and simple and seemingly irrefutable, based as it is on such rigorous logic as defies refutation. The truth of its philosophical assertions must however be tested in the crucible of the soul and its veracity attested. The Advaita Vedanta throws open the challenge to the world to rationalise and realise its principles before accepting its truth.

64. Think. And think for yourself. It is no good if you have to refer to scripture each time to direct your living. Live by your own norms. Be free of traditional trappings.

65. If God created the universe, the question follows -- who created God? That would lead to an infinite series of counter questions proceeding backwards which would not help. So, if the response is that God was not created but has always been, then the same logic ought to apply to the universe as well, that the universal series was never created but has always been, waxing and waning in a never-ending cycle. 'Anaadi srishti, ananta srishti' of the Vedas solves the problem. Law of conservation, you see.

66. One must see one's soul face to face, so to say, before one can honestly accept the existence of God. And even then lingering doubts will remain by the very nature of the deliberating mind which is why nothing in Maya may with certitude be said. A constancy of Self-perception alone can dispel delusion and with it all doubt permanently. Like we sight the universe about us constantly and so believe in its apparent existence, in the same way we need to sight our Self constantly before we can repose unshakeable faith in the existence of God, its definition changing though post-realisation.

67. Let none come to conclusions from my diverse writings about my confirmed philosophical stance. I merely toy with ideas and present them for your perusal to induce you to think, and think clearly, free of scriptural or other superstition.

68. This universe is a myth and its long history mythology. Ramayan, Mahabharat, Iliad and Odyssey are but playthings compared to this original mythology.

69. This life was such a golden chance to free oneself. But it was lost in the vanity of words.

70. Touch is all that connects me to the world. Touch transcended leads to the realm of the Spirit. It is the same Truth transmuted, transformed, Reality revealing its other face.

71. This world itself is the Truth if you know how to read it.

72. When you discuss, do you do so to arrive at an understanding of things or to affirm and assert your dogmatic stance? The former explores and gains, the latter stays rooted and rots.

73. This fixation with God certain dualists have is problematic. They need a Master to bow down to, a legacy of the feudal mindset.

74. The number of atheists is progressively increasing in the world with the spread of scientific education.

75. Dualistic devotees, gear your self-confidence up a bit and learn to rely on yourselves instead of on an imaginary heavenly Master who rewards and punishes as He deems it right. No such Master exists beyond the fictitious one you have created. So, help yourselves along as no God will ever come to help you or save you, you who are the creator of this Creator God who then created you.

76. The Jews like the Hindus do not convert others to their religion which is why I respect them. I dislike aggressive proselytising religions as proselytism, to my mind, is cross-cultural religious violence.

77. What is God?

78. Be utterly unsuperstitious.

79. āĻ¸āĻ°āĻ˛ āĻšāĻ˛ে āĻāĻ—āĻŦাāĻ¨েāĻ° āĻĒ্āĻ°িā§Ÿ āĻšā§Ÿ |

80. I do not believe in any God which is other than my Self (Atman). I, as the Self, am God.

81. Stop building temples, mosques, churches, places of worship. Build schools, colleges, universities, scientific institutions, hospitals, health-care facilities, cultural centres instead. Free humanity of superstition and let the 'lion of the Vedanta roar.' Let go of the God outside, above the clouds, in heaven and beyond the cosmos in extracosmic 'space', and start affirming the God that is immanent in every being, in every atom of the universe and of countless cosmoses that may be. Worship Man. He is the only being worthy of worship. The atheist has got it half-right. Now, be proper Vedantists and get it fully right.

82. The participation of people on Facebook posts is a good indicator of where the country is headed. The popularity or otherwise of posts and the comments thereof are indicative of people's tastes, temperament and the trends in society. Unfortunately, the signs are not good. It is a progressively declining culture that we are witnessing today which is ominous for our country's future.

83. Call it natural selection or God's work, one cannot cease to wonder at the sheer artistry of life all around, from the butterfly to the honeybee, from the perishing form of beauty to the impermanence of form itself, a panoramic spectacle of variegated life.

84. It is wrong to convert anybody to your religion for it entails a violation of the natural evolution of a human being. And such violation is violence that cannot be condoned.

85.

Following one's own religion: a, b, c, d, e, f, ... (evolutionary progression).

Being tricked or forced into conversion: z, y, x, w, v, u, ... (induced or enforced regression).

86. If a religion rides on the shoulders of barbarism, its death shall be when the barbarous evolve.

87. The Hindus have remained 'a wounded civilisation' ever since the fall of Sindh to Islamic hordes in 712 CE.

88. If anyone ever gives you the Dawah (invitation) to join Islam, reject it flat as being opposed to your Sanatan spiritual principle.

89. The spread of Hinduism is of utmost moment to the future survival of the human race.

90. Islam's fraternity extends only to the body of its believers and not to the whole of humanity. Hinduism, on the other hand, embraces all of sentience within its fraternal fold.

91. Christianity and Islam historically spread by violence. Buddhism spread through virtue and love.

92. How long must women live under the dictates of man-made religion? Now do not bring in that outdated theory of divine revelation to justify your arbitrary injunctions on women's apparel. That is simply nonsense, you very well know. And if you do not, then know it for it is high time to do so, to shed superstition and blind belief.

93. A religion that converts is not a religion but a political movement and must be treated as such.

94. Hindus have survived Islamisation en masse because of the rigidity of the caste system but it is time to integrate Hindu society on the basis of the Vedanta.

95. The new money-mantra, 'āĻŸাāĻ•া āĻ–াঁāĻŸি, āĻ–াঁāĻŸি āĻŸাāĻ•া' (money is the pure stuff, the pure stuff is money), is killing monasticism today. Augurs not well for the Mission of the Master.

96. We have to rapidly educate our masses in the principles of the Vedanta in as direct and simple a manner as possible. The power of the masses thus roused in the divine direction, our country's progress will be unstoppable. But conservative forces will have to be overcome who stand to benefit from the existing order of things.

97. Before you speak of spiritualising the world, pay your employee better. He is not your slave nor a beggar at your door for a dole.

98. Myths are not reality although phenomenal reality itself is a myth according to the Vedanta.

99. Slave-mentality is not spirituality.

100. Which Krishna do you want me to bow down to - the one Vivekananda says is my Self, which being myself I cannot bow down to, or the one your dualistic Acharya of global fame has indoctrinated you into believing, which being a flawed form of devotion I cannot subscribe to?

SPARE THE CHILD

SPARE THE CHILD

Children are not to be labelled as Muslim, Christian or Buddhist and the like. They are not born into religion. They must neither be indoctrinated into their parent's religion or non-religion as the case may be. Let them grow up with healthy rational minds that must be taught how to concentrate and how to critically think without any imposition, though, in the process. They will learn to discern and distinguish between what is acceptable to them and what they must reject, but they will do it themselves. Thus, a generation of young adults who have been spared toxic scriptural indoctrination will bring about a revolutionary change in the world and usher humanity on to the age of light and unfettered progress.

I AM A FREETHINKER

I AM A FREETHINKER

In 1987 a West German friend of mine had called me a 'freethinker'. Such freethinkers, I was told, were in vogue in the Federal Republic of Germany who subscribed to no particular intellectual ideology, religious denomination or philosophical persuasion as such but were busy churning out their own intellectual responses to the problems of the times and life and history in general. I was intrigued by the term and mentally accepted it for the while before it slipped off my mind till decades later it has resurfaced amidst the turbulence of the times when such freethinking, I believe, has ironically become an intellectual imperative, and I hereby label myself as one such freethinker. That German indologist was very perceptive about my intellectual stance and read deep into me, I am convinced today, as I view myself more than ever before as what I was labelled then.

So, here I go. I am a freethinker by self-admission now, something that I have consciously and unconsciously always been, rebel that I am by disposition and nature, subscribing to no totalitarianism of man or God and shifting ever on the creative sea of ideas, revelling in life's unceasing revelations.

A NOTE ON A NEIGHBOUR WHICH WAS ONCE BENGAL ... 2

A NOTE ON A NEIGHBOUR WHICH WAS ONCE BENGAL ... 2

Bangladesh may adopt Sri Ramakrishna as her religious model, that of universal acceptance instead of the exclusive Islamic bigotry she is giving in to increasingly. Forget not that Sri Ramakrishna had practised Sufi Islam as one of the many spiritual paths he traversed and had attained enlightenment through that path as well. Bangladesh may remember that epochal instance and take to liberalising her polity. Else, dark days are ahead for this beautiful country of bountiful Nature.

A NOTE ON A NEIGHBOUR WHICH WAS ONCE BENGAL ... 1

A NOTE ON A NEIGHBOUR WHICH WAS ONCE BENGAL ... 1

As Bangladesh suffers increasing Islamisation and loses her Hindu-Buddhist civilisational links, she is fastracking herself to cultural annihilation among the desert dunes of Arabia. Bangladesh must quickly change course and revert to classical Bengali culture. Else, what happens to all Islamic nations will befall her, a deadly theocratic regression, loss of human rights, curtailment of critical thinking, abolition of free speech, gender inequality, repression of the minorities and a wholesale return to medieval darkness in the name of high-sounding theocratic civilisation. All these features are unofficially but in real already evident there and they need only Constitutional validation before they show up their claws in their bare nakedness. Must West Bengal follow suit?

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PATRONISE AND CURB CONVERSATION ON PERTINENT ISSUES

Do not try to patronise me in the comment stream. My posts are my opinion on diverse issues stemming from deep reflection over decades. They need not tally with yours. You may write your posts on your page instead of attempting to curb my observations. It will not work. Hence, desist from such patronising talk and engage in fruitful discussion in civil language instead which will be most welcome. May good attend on you all!

When you comment on my posts, be civil, be decent in your use of words and do not attempt to patronise. Abuse will not be tolerated. Instant blocking will follow with no rejoinder whatsoever given from now on followed by deletion of comment.

I am aggrieved at the low culture exhibited by an individual who irresponsibly abused, not me but a public figure of considerable repute. Such instances leave one with a foul taste and one is left despairing the fate of Bengal that is going down by the day. Alas, we have let our great ones down and brought upon us this current corruption! It is a sad demise of everything that Bengal at its best has ever stood for.

And all this has come from a well-educated gentleman who needlessly foul-mouthed this public figure who did not even feature in our conversation on the comment stream. Sad!

If anyone dares to insult any gentleman on my page on the basis of political grudge held, he will be summarily dismissed from my presence by way of being permanently blocked. Only a few minutes back someone used abusive language against a noted public figure (name being withheld to guard the honour of the aforesaid gentleman). He has been given the due treatment by way of being afforded a stern rejoinder followed by his account being blocked by me. Such filthy verbal abuse is unwelcome here and will not be tolerated. Thank you.

BANGLADESH, BEWARE!

BANGLADESH, BEWARE!

In Bangladesh the movement is going on to oust Tagore from the literary discourse. The liberal humanistic philosophy of Tagore stands as bar to the Islamisation of Bangladesh. Hence, the movement to erase him from the public imagination. And what better way than to remove his writings from the academic curriculum?

If the sane people of Bangladesh do not stand up for liberal principles, the country will go to ruin. Upon their decision rests the future of Bangladesh. But does it? The clerics are too powerful in their garnering of public sympathy and support, and the political parties must appease them to stay in power.

So, what lies ahead for Bangladesh, a region that had unleashed unprecedented violence and horror on Hindus to force Partition? Have you forgotten Noakhali? You must not. That Bangladesh now stands near a precipice. Its trajectory will determine its future fate.

Bangladesh, beware! Do not shun democracy and with it your rising chances as a nation. You have persecuted the Hindus long enough. Now do not self-persecute by shunning Tagore. That would be suicidal. 🕉

THE SHRINKING SPACE OF LIBERAL THINKING

THE SHRINKING SPACE OF LIBERAL THINKING

The more you appease the easily offended ones by giving in to their 'blasphemy demands', the more do they impose their further demands on you. It is a psychological truth that the ones who are thus appeased are never quite appeased enough to give up on their demands for greater religious and cultural privilege that stand antithetical to modernity, progress and universal  human rights. If in the name of cultural relativism you allow the infringement of basic human rights such as the unhindered practice of misogyny and the curtailment of free speech, you will have successfully taken humanity back to medieval darkness from where with such phenomenal labour of centuries it has to light and life emerged.

A POINTER TO THE READER

A POINTER TO THE READER

My writings are apparently contradisposed to each other but they are really all directed towards effecting human progress. Life's contradictions come through in my writings as baffling to the surface reader who wishes to take a partial look at them, but to the perceptive and patient one who goes through the bulk of my writings, this inner harmony will be easily apparent. A comprehensive view is what is called for before the critic's judgement is delivered. Else, it will be a folly in literal legality.

THE WAY AHEAD ... 1

THE WAY AHEAD ... 1

It is best to be purely scientific and to give up religion if it teaches one to engage in barbarous tribal activities which it does. The Vedanta offers a way out. It harmonises religion and science. But the Vedanta must be understood clearly and practised purely without wholesale compromise attending it. Progress can come about only then. Right now horrible religious practices abound which border on barbarism. Humanity must outgrow these if it has to progress towards equality and universal human rights.

HINDUISM ... 2

HINDUISM ... 2

The dividing line between man and man is simply not there. It all arises in ignorance. Hence, the distinction between the heaven-bound believer and the hell-bound infildel is a gross misreading of phenomena by the Abrahamic religions who have got it all wrong. The Sanatan Dharma which is the science of Nature and the Spirit is spot on in its theory of essential integration and apparent distinction.

MISSING THE MARK EVER

MISSING THE MARK EVER

The phenomenal capacity of the ordinary reader to misread into a post makes one wonder whether that is the reason why great spiritual masters are invariably misread by their followers which inevitably sets in the decay of the original movement within decades of the passage of the great one from their midst. Thus have the Buddha and Christ been misapprehended and thus have Ramakrishna and Vivekananda been misapprehended as well. And so has the legacy of the world-movers been reduced from high spirituality to material gain even as the import of a write-up is reduced from its deeper connotation to its surface reading -- shallow, superficial and removed from its root by miles.

There is a gap between the author's understanding and the reader's which is never filled, especially when the writing is loaded with mystical meaning or is philosophically nuanced. A flat sale price may be charged on a commodity but never so on an idea that is not quite out for seasonal sale to all and sundry. The author ever lives a Crusoe marooned on his island and, perchance, finds a Friday to seek rough solace in. Else, it is all self-communication as readers misread and misinterpret.

One cannot possibly leave behind voluminous commentary on every pithy post after all. So, let the literary festival of feeble understanding proliferate from eye to mind and mind to fingertip as 'fools rush in where angels fear to tread'. After all this is the age of democracy and mass misunderstanding.

THE SAD FATE OF TRUTH

THE SAD FATE OF TRUTH

'Satyameva jayatey' is no more valid today if it hurts the religious sentiments of vast numbers of people. Now it is 'Satyam bruaat priyam bruaat ma bruaat satyam apriyam.' Sorry, this violates Swamiji's averment, 'Truth does not pay homage to any society, ancient or modern. Society must pay homage to Truth or die. Societies should be moulded upon truth, and truth has not to adjust itself to society.'

THE ORIENTAL CHRIST

THE ORIENTAL CHRIST

Christ was a great soul, an Avatar for sure. But it seems he was not well understood by his disciples and future followers, as it so often happens. Hence, Christianity is far removed from what must have been the message of the Oriental Christ which would have been in line with Hindu-Buddhist thinking in vogue then in the Middle East as also intuitively apprehended by the Master.

Mary Magdalene was Christ's greatest disciple but being a woman was castigated for millenia by the Church as a prostitute, her reputation restored only in the 20th century. Just one such indication of distortion of the Master's message and life for organisational interest.

The Christ of the New Testament and the Qur'an both fall short of the grandeur of that great soul who lived in Galilee. He was not the Son of God nor the Jewish Messiah come to deliver the Jews nor was he the Redeemer of Original Sin but he was God Himself who walked the earth to deliver the message of the freedom of the Self.

The world has not comprehended Christ. The Hindus have. We should accordingly add, 'Keshava dhrita Christashareer jaya Jagadeesha Harey'.

NOTHING BEYOND US

NOTHING BEYOND US

We are all the way depending on ourselves while we imagine that we are depending on others. We are interacting with ourselves while we are convinced that we are interacting with others. We are praying to ourselves while we believe that we are praying to God. All our associations are mental images which are us-bound and not extending anywhere beyond us. Such dissociation is simply not possible. It is like an elastic rubber band that stretches to its limit before contracting to its unstreched configuration under the action of the restoring force. Thus are all our associations and interactions which are bound to ourselves as their gravitating focus and cannot leave its field. Even God-realisation is, thus, Self-realisation and no more, for no God can exist beyond ourselves. This is pristine pure Vedanta, now articulated afresh in modern linguistic and scientific terms. Comprehend this and rest in peace.

THE CLASH OF CIVILISATIONS ... 1

THE CLASH OF CIVILISATIONS ... 1

Europe is being invaded by Islam. They are grappling with the problem of growing Islamisation of their societies.

India has already suffered 1300+ years of Islamisation which has entailed the loss of an estimated 80 million Hindu lives and eventually precipitated a horrific bloody Partition.

Europe is facing immigration issues with Muslims seeking refuge in their welfare societies by the millions and then refusing to integrate. The open border policy of the European Union has precipitated an immigration crisis there. The European countries of small population like Denmark, Sweden, Holland and Belgium are facing a rapid demographic change because of high immigration and higher fertility of the migrant Muslims which is impacting their social cohesion and altering their liberal Judeo-Christian culture.

The far right political parties there are rising now to redress the issue. In France and Italy the anti-immigration wave is at its height. However, the general ignorance of European leaders about the doctrinaire content of Islam which aims at the destruction of all that the West stands for and the imposition of the Sharia is making matters worse. Within decades it is being forecast much of Europe will be Muslim-majority countries.

Here in India we are facing a similar predicament as more and more regions are coming under increased Islamic influence. There as here the left are making common cause with the Islamists and trying to subvert whatever stands in the way of realisation of their utopian idealism of socialism. This is helping the cause of the Islamists further. Once Islamisation is complete, the leftists will discover to their horror the real face of Islam as they experienced in Iran after conspiring with the Islamists to drive the Shah of Iran into exile. In came Ayatolla Khomenei and all the leftist allies were summarily executed or dispatched to prison and the Sharia was imposed.

But the leftists have not learnt their lesson. Hence, Europe's predicament continues with leftist support aiding Islamisation as growing immigration, fertility, proselytism (Dawah), infiltration into governmental machinery and the ever-increasing demand for special rights and privileges including the introduction of blasphemy laws in favour of Islam and its founder are changing the face of Europe for good.

The Hegelian antithesis is also at work and we are in for a clash of civilisations as Samuel P. Huntington had in 1996 prophesied in his book. Meanwhile, India is suffering a similar fate and there is not only a cultural churn but a conflicting one at that in the making.

HINDUISM ... 1

HINDUISM ... 1

Even the senses cheat. A straight stick appears bent in water. Therefore, mere objective experience cannot be trusted as valid proof of God. Experience unless supersensous and then amenable to due rationalisation that does not take recourse to twisting logic to suit convenience is not to be held as the basis for belief. Belief in God that is unshakeable conviction is born out of immediate realisation of the transcendental Truth which is termed 'Aparokshaanubhuti'.

This term 'God' actually is of Abrahamic origin and is superfluous in this discussion as its very connotation is in opposition to all that Indian philosophy largely stands for. 'Transcendental Truth' would be better suited to the purpose.

This Truth is apprehended by a dissolving of the mind and the universe with it. Man can do it. Such a man is called a Rishi. When he succeeds in doing it, he comes face to face with his own inner reality which is the reality of the universe as well. It is called the Atman when viewed from the personal perspective and Brahman when viewed on the universal scale.

IT'S THE OTHER WAY ROUND, DEAR DEVOTEE

IT'S THE OTHER WAY ROUND, DEAR DEVOTEE

God depends on man for His existence. Be it the imaginary God of crude dualism or the God who is pure consciousness, it is ever man who conceives, realises, reports about Him and lends Him existence. Beyond man there can be no God. Imagination, refracted perception and immediate realisation are all centred in man, and, hence, the existence of God is dependent on man. Only in the non-dual state of transcendence of relativity the human is dissolved into nothingness and with it the divine also vanishes. What is left is pure consciousness and absolute existence which is the pure man, no different from the pure God. Here man has finally self-focussed and emerged in his own self-brooding as God. So, whichever way you see, the mythical creator God depends on the misapprehending man's imagination, the immanent God in Nature depends upon man's enlightened rationalisation and realisation, and the Absolute God in nirvikalpa samadhi is man in his spiritual essence. In all these man is the experiencer of God whose existence thereby becomes dependent on him. Thus may the opening statement of this piece be reiterated, nay, with force of comprehension and conviction reaffirmed.

SUBMISSION THAT IS BONDAGE AND A DENIAL OF HUMAN FREEDOM TO BE, TO THINK, TO ACCEPT OR TO REJECT ARTICLES OF FAITH THAT HOLD HUMANITY CAPTIVE EVEN IN THIS MODERN AGE OF UNIVERSAL HUMAN RIGHTS

SUBMISSION THAT IS BONDAGE AND A DENIAL OF HUMAN FREEDOM TO BE, TO THINK, TO ACCEPT OR TO REJECT ARTICLES OF FAITH THAT HOLD HUMANITY CAPTIVE EVEN IN THIS MODERN AGE OF UNIVERSAL HUMAN RIGHTS

The fate of hundreds of millions of children  across the world is being sealed by daily indoctrination of fanatical ideas which are irrational assumptions of faith with no credible proof to validate or sustain them. Enforced discipline and pressure of the polity keep generations of modern men enchained to medieval myths and monstrosities. Children grow up in a toxic atmosphere that denies critical thinking about faith and enforces submission by way of cultural theological compulsion. These grown-ups then carry out the same programme of brainwashing kids and so the process goes on keeping believers in bondage while dealing the death-blow to all dissidents. How can humanity evolve beyond this state of divine bondage is involving the minds of thinking men. There needs to be a revolution of ideas from within the polity which will deliver masses of men from this abysmal state of servility and submission.

DO NOT BE A CHERRY-PICKING CRITIC

DO NOT BE A CHERRY-PICKING CRITIC

Do not be a cherry-picking critic. Be holistic in your approach. Your brain deserves better than such segmented misapprehension. Read the entire essay when you do, seek its spirit and derive what you will then.

We are comprehensive beings and we ought to be holistic in our understanding. Little words and phrases catch your attention and you pick up on them and that, too, erroneously. Readership demands greater depth of perception even as authorship demands depth of literary production. Else, writing becomes a self-communicative exercise alone which defeats its purpose largely.

Read with care. Reflect for a while. Respond only then to resolve doubts. Do not rush in with your reactions on the spur of the moment and make a mockery of the post. Stay well in health, happiness and relaxed response.

GIVE UP THIS VAIN DREAM OF CONVERTING THE HINDU BY CRAFTILY INVITING HIM (DAWAH) TO YOUR FOLD

GIVE UP THIS VAIN DREAM OF CONVERTING THE HINDU BY CRAFTILY INVITING HIM (DAWAH) TO YOUR FOLD

If you are convinced God exists, why do you want to go to heaven postmortem to have sensual delight there of an intensified order? Why not realise God here and now and be in perpetual bliss? And why are you so afraid of hellfire? The Hindu 🕉 cares neither for your sensual heaven nor is he fooled by childish fears of your flaming hell. He laughs at your one-life theory of passing a qualifying test for entry into a heaven of sensual delight which he spurns as beneath his spiritual dignity to even conceptually entertain, much less pursue with energy and ardour. Hell he considers a kindergarten concept invented by clerics to control masses of men to suit their exploitative ends. The Hindu conquers fear and foolishness and with it vanishes for him this fictitious hell with all its furnace fire.

What remains now? God? Well, the Hindu soon discovers God to be his inmost being, his very essence, his own transcendental Self that is reachable here and now and is ever-reached each moment, for who could survive a moment, think a moment, cognise his own existence a moment save in and through Him (Antaryamin) who is seated in his very heart controlling the course of things?

Therefore, my dear friend, reflect on the principles of Hindu philosophy well before you form your proselytising party to convert Hindus to your fold. A PhD scholar is not to be invited to become a student of a Montessori school. Give up this vain dream then of converting the Hindu to your fold. Your dawah, intrinsic to your faith as its political tool of expansion and conquest, has lost its way in the desert-sand of time and will no more bear fair or foul fruition. So, give up.
