JUSTICE MUKHERJEE SAYS IT ALL

JUSTICE MUKHERJEE SAYS IT ALL

Startling private admission by Justice Manoj Kumar Mukherjee in an interview to filmmaker Amlan Kusum Ghosh that he was 100% sure that Bhagavanji was Netaji. The judge reaffirmed that he was 100% sure. He exhorted Ghosh, however, that he was not to be quoted in public what he had confided to him in private.

The filmmaker did not abide by the request and revealed the video footage containing the clipping in public soon. The judge was unaware that the camera was still on while he was giving away his personal conviction. He had thought that the camera was off and, hence, came clean about his own impression which he had earlier withheld while the interview was officially on. This was a clear breach of trust and bespoke poorly on the moral soundness of the whole affair.

But keeping the larger interests of the nation in mind, it was immorality in the service of humanity and, hence, despite the initial shock of the revelation and the consequent sense of betrayal, the venerable judge must have later accepted it as Providential evil perpetrated to generate Providential good and must have in a sense forgiven the filmmaker for his clear breach of trust and of faith reposed. Be that as it may, the most powerful argument for the public to repose faith in the Faizabad angle was thus given the light of day.
