MUST YOU BE SO BLIND, O BELIEVER ?

Venerating a book without knowing its content is foolish. Read, critically comprehend, then revere if you feel like, if your appreciation of it is so heightened. Do not simply imagine holiness in a book on the basis of traditional, passed-on authority. The book itself must not dictate its own inviolability, its own divine authenticity. That must be deemed circular logic. There must be the universal ethical standard, scientific rationality and comparative study to determine the truth of its claims which are in some cases uniquely preposterous and damaging to human interests. Believers, come out of this fold of unreason and stand upright in the sunshine of freedom.
