Swamiji has in his celebrated San Francisco lecture 'Is Vedanta the Future Religion?' delivered on 8 April, 1900, said, "All existent religions that are spreading are tremendously fanatic. The more a sect hates other sects, the greater is its success and the more people it draws into its fold." Hence, you see why the Ramakrishna Mission is failing to win mass popular support in the world and ISKCON is able to do it. Muslims and Christians are also able to win over masses of commoners to their fold for the same reason.

Now, the question arises: Do we want the Ramakrishna Mission to adopt a fanatical stance and go for aggressive proselytisation? Certainly not, for that would kill the spirit of the Sanatan Dharma which the Mission represents and destroy the long-term aspirations of their spiritual founder, Swami Vivekananda. 'Slow and steady wins the race,' we all know, and the Mission will steadily win this race, albeit over centuries of pure living, harmonic preaching and patient pursuit of the principles enshrined in the Upanishads as understood by the Holy Trinity they owe allegiance to. 🕉
