SPEAKING FROM THE HEART ... 7

There is a fundamental flaw in the concept of charity, philanthropy et al. In a capitalist society if the basic principle is profit-generation irrespective of its mass exploitative outcome, then charity by way of redress becomes the handmaid of the exploitative forces that be and serves by its sympathy-cover to perpetuate the exploitation that impoverishes large masses of people in the first place. Hence, charity cannot be the way. A system has to be worked out whereby profit to impoverish will be replaced by profit to sustain decent living standards for all and not just maintain mansions for the few. This is the work of scientists to devise and mere tears that induce the dole for the poor will be of no avail. This must be understood and acted upon.
