There are apologists in religion that say desire is natural and must only be directed to their fulfilment. There are others that prescribe their sublimation. A third stream decree their destruction. This three-fold path is before you. Choose your option and reap the consequences or stand free of all concomitant evils that needs must be if Nature's dictates you must follow or reject.
Slaves of desire themselves, they don the robe of the preceptor and preach a million mysteries to befuddle their gullible flock. And man, in his innocence fraught with ignorance of these machinations, mortgages judgement to 'superior' counsel and comes to grief. Now study the scriptures and come to a settled understanding as to what your ancestors thought about these momentous questions of life and death and then chart out your own course of action instead of selling discretion and direction in life to these mercenaries masquerading as messiahs.
Swami Vivekananda had exhorted man to become thinkers and even to embrace atheism in his pursuit of reason and realisation rather than become easy meat for these mischievous elements, these rogues running the show that is religion for the masses. Come off it and dare declare your independence of anything that binds you in the material mire, anything that clouds your judgement, and in the clear light of enlightened reason envision your course, your career that no more needs a corrupt counsellor than a lion needs a helpmate to assume sovereignty over his terrain. May the God within you awake to guide your first faltering footsteps as you traverse your earthly course independent of all 'masters' who attempt to cage you, 'blithe spirits' that you are!
