POVERTY, NOT A GIFT OF GOD BUT A CURSE OF MAN

POVERTY, NOT A GIFT OF GOD BUT A CURSE OF MAN

Poverty is not a gift of God. It is the curse of man. It is not merely the curse of the self but very much the doing of the malefic elements of life. It is of course the curse of man thrust on man through inordinate greed and self-possession consequent on spiritual ignorance.

The curse of the capitalist, of capitalism and human greed has well-nigh destroyed the dignity of man and kept in servile bonds billions of people across the world. Telling the starving man this high-flown philosophy of the self is tantamount to insulting his very dignity as an individual who has had the deserving to be manifested in this terrestrial plane by Nature's workings but seemingly does not any more deserve the right of existence beyond the animal level owing to indiscriminate injustice heaped on him by brother man. The universe being the projection of the self is hardly applicable in real terms when it comes to the hard struggle of these living gods and goddesses for their survival, for their daily bread for terrestrial maintenance of their famished bodies.

It is a standing testament of human barbarism of the worst kind that billions should so suffer to humour the vanities of the rich and the powerful with their labour dragged out of their sinews, out of their very life-blood and, yet, they should be denied any status having a semblance of humanity remotely even. If this is not a curse, what is?
