We are indulging in negative, destructive politics in India. This is not conducive to progress. What we need is positive, nation-building, patriotic politics. Right now too many self-seeking personalities are perverting our national politics that is hindering rapid progress. These ones need to be identified and irrespective of the citizens' party affiliation and allegiance ought to be rejected by them. Such a cleansing must be democratically done by the ballot and by raising public opinion without the act being compromised by the aforesaid ideological leaning of the individual. The country comes first and not group or individual interest. Patriotism demands that national interest must come before self-interest. The politics of negative reaction must be replaced by the politics of growth and positive action. Only then will our country fulfil her potential and occupy her due place in the comity of nations.
