RELIGION AND IRRELIGION
RELIGION AND IRRELIGION
In the light of unfolding Hindu persecution in Bangladesh it is becoming increasingly clear which faith is to be called religion and which irreligion. The relevant passages of the Geetā need to be remembered in this context. There is something called the faith of the gods (devas) and there is also something called the faith of the demons (dānavas/asuras). These are faiths alright but widely divergent, quite diametrically opposed to each other in ideological terms.
Hindus in Bangladesh are facing a existential threat today and are being forced to put up a valiant defence for which in turn they are being doubly persecuted. Expulsion and residual annihilation through forcible conversion of the Hindus is the goal of the 'peaceful protagonists' of 'the only true faith', 'the perfect path', 'the most compassionate' practitioners of the credo 'unto you belongs your religion and unto me mine'. Such 'peacefulness' is aimed at making pieces of whatever remains of the Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh.
It is time enough for Hindus here in India, especially the Bengali Hindus of West Bengal, to wake up to this calamity that has befallen their brethren in Bangladesh. Their solidarity and active sympathy will go a long way to bolstering the confidence of the Bangladeshi Hindus and instilling greater courage in their already stirred up hearts to put up a valorous defence of their rights and lives. Only make sure that you do not fall for the leftist narratives that are deliberately downplaying the plight of Bangladeshi Hindus and painting the ongoing persecution of Hindus in terms of reprisals against Awami League supporters among which even Muslims are the target. This may in part be otherwise true but the attempt is to downplay the persecution of the Hindus to push forward the leftist agenda at this hour of Hindu civilisational peril. Beware of leftist propaganda and Islamic apology! Listen to the wails and lamentations of the dying Hindus, the tortured and the tormented.
🕉 Hindu!
