THE INDIVIDUAL AND THE COLLECTIVE

The cooperative way of living is the only way of effective existence and where it lacks, civilisation sinks.

Even these photographs cooperate with each other to bring out the cumulative harmonic effect. Beauty is ever the synthesis of such fractional entities in a resulting aggregate where the whole unfolds in its lovelier form and the parts are apparently lost in making provision for it. Yet, each part functions on its own as well as in unison with the others to bring about the cooperative organic efficiency. It is this interplay between the individual and the collective that defines the finer functioning of society, and this can be seen in how gregarious mammals as well as societal insects and even microscopic organisms within the animal body sacrifice their individual selves to bring about collective survival good. In the whole the individual lives and in the individual is implicit the possibilities in coordinated work that conduces to the betterment and survival of the whole. Each is indispensable to the other.
