AT THE BREAK OF DAWN
So much I wish to say, so meagre the means to do so, so scant the occasion that allows. Just let this suffice at this blessed hour, at this hallowed moment of reliving our attainment of sovereignty at what a terrible price in blood, sweat and toil, torment, torture, starvation, impoverishment, death from bayonet and bullet and from the mouth of the firing cannon, and, above all, in dastardly dismemberment of our motherland, just let this much say it all, "My countrymen, I love you !"
