THE SEEMING GREAT AND THE TRULY GREAT

THE SEEMING GREAT AND THE TRULY GREAT

There are two types of leaders -- one who assumes a larger magnification in public estimation than is due to him through persistent propaganda of his supposed greatness by his followers, and the other who is truly greater than the greatest accolades showered on him in reverential memory may make him appear to be in the eyes of humanity. The former enjoys much fame and glory for a limited period of time, say, a century since his earthly exploits, while unto the latter is reserved enduring glory for all time to come, a glory that only brightens with the passage of time, lasts for millenia before oblivion shrouds the personality in radically altered circumstances and the crystallised essence of his message outlasts his being as a perennial gift unto human civilisation even as the personality seeks its final resting place in the grave where all greats lie.
