Hinduism 🕉 must be introduced to the Western world as a religion for sure while taking care to state as well how radically different it is from the Abrahamic religions. To state that it is not a religion and is a dharma instead is highly confusing for the uninitiated Western audience who are then apt to rejecting it as so much of a cocktail of coarse pagan ideas without a clear-cut identity of its own. To attract mainstream Westerners to Hinduism we must stop confusing them with such terms as Sanatan Dharma which they instinctively cannot relate to as of now because the English dictionaries refer to our faith as Hinduism and not Sanatan Dharma as such. By and by such altered understanding will come but we must right now state that Hinduism is a religion. Such an explicit identity bereft of any vagueness of terminology will help attract Western converts to Hinduism. Otherwise, Hinduism will remain to the average Westerner as a mass of material confusion quite opposed to its true spirit as a highly philosophical religion with an all-embracing sweep of its own.
