IN RESPONSE TO A READER'S COMMENT IN REGARD TO THE APATHY OF ONLINERS TO READING FACEBOOK POSTS OF CONSEQUENCE WITH ANY DEGREE OF SERIOUSNESS OR DUE ENGAGEMENT

IN RESPONSE TO A READER'S COMMENT IN REGARD TO THE APATHY OF ONLINERS TO READING FACEBOOK POSTS OF CONSEQUENCE WITH ANY DEGREE OF SERIOUSNESS OR DUE ENGAGEMENT

It is sad to see the sinking intellectual state of a rising nation. The average onliner seems just the variety you (Deep Mukherjee) have succinctly stated---absorbed in petty, superficial self-indulgence. The more eminent ones are busy in self-propagation. A third kind is better than the worst and worse than the best but utterly impatient to read---as you have rightly stated---and are given to silly emoji-giving or eulogising the pictures appending the posts which they deem it to be revering the great ones therein held in optical frame. None of these are thinkers, in the absence of which the nation is sinking to an abysmally low intellectual level which augurs not well for its future prospects.

Swamiji had in his San Francisco lecture 'Is Vedanta the Future Religion?' said, "Let men be thinkers." Alas, his exhortation has fallen on deaf ears which is why Mark Antony was made by the Bard of Avon to exhort, "Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears." Alas, ears they have, our countrymen, and yet they do not have!

Swamiji had died a frustrated man in worldly terms, a voice in the wilderness whose echoes some yet hear and respond to, but the vast majority of educated fools and learned nincompoops busy bloating about self-accomplishment, or those basking in ancestral glory who are intent on engaging people's attention to such hoary inheritance of little consequence, though, in terms of personal attainment, or at least of not much significance to the polity at large whose sinking fortunes do not seem to quicken a sufficient response in them in so far as is apparent from their casual and convenient commenting, do not care for the seminal sage beyond such insincere, cowardly posturing.

This, alas, is the fate of our rotting polity whose nerves and neurons are but, hopefully speaking, beginning to thrill to the clarion call of the monk from the Madras Presidency who had thundered in such utterly loving tone, "My India, arise!"

Shall India arise? If she does---which she must and which she will---she lives. Else, she dies and dies with it the world of men, for the brutes remaining will make a forest, not a civilised human society of whatever hue anymore. 🕉

LOVE ALL BUT ROOT OUT EVIL

LOVE ALL BUT ROOT OUT EVIL

Love all, love all, love all. But do not patronise wickedness. The individual is distinct from ideology. But if ideology be toxic, it destroys the individual. And masses of individuals corrupted by evil doctrine make society toxic, the nation noxious and the world a hellish habitat. So must pernicious ideology be destroyed if the individual is to be saved, the nation restored to spiritual sanity and the world inundated with love that knows no bounds. This is the holy task---the destruction of evil ideology so that humanity may be saved. Else, annihilation looms large on the horizon.

SPARE THE ANIMAL AND SAVE YOUR SOUL

SPARE THE ANIMAL AND SAVE YOUR SOUL

Greetings to all who are merciful to animals and do not kill them to appease God. The Merciful One does not feel pleased by such sacrifice. Desist from blood-letting following archaic prescriptions of faith. Ask once the animals how they view this wanton sacrifice of their selves to allow the inertia of ages to unhindered continue. Animals are not there for beng butchered without being consulted even. They also have life and need protection of their right to live. Such callous killing of countless millions of animals does not show humans engaging in it in a good light. Civilisation demands love of animals and their life rather than love of sacrificing them for religious merit. If animals are spared, God is pleased more and greater religious merit acquired. Greater humanity is manifested as well. Spare the animal and save your soul. Else, karma will recoil inevitably unto you.

DEFENCE OF THE DHARMA ... 4

DEFENCE OF THE DHARMA ... 4

The whole of India must be Hinduised if this nation has to march ahead. Otherwise, with the spread of Islam, Christianity, Marxism, secularism and rank atheism, this blessed motherland of ours will lose her civilisational identity and go to ruin.

But that can never be. Hinduism is on the rise. It will rise to subdue with the voice of peace and harmony all discordant jarring notes that have disrupted the civilisation of holy Aryavarta for the last 1300 years and more.

Truth triumphs. So, will Hinduism, for it is the embodiment of all that is true and beautiful in the spiritual realm, all that is subtle and sublime in the region of thought, all that is nourishing and uplifting in the world of ideas.

Let us practise the glorious principles of this, our inheritance, till this land is purged of perverting ideas descended upon it from alien terrain and Bharatvarsha is rendered whole again, vibrating to the pulse of the Vedas. Let the Upanishads in thundering tone rouse the nation to fearlessness and valour, ever reminding the children of the Rishis that death is but a plaything to them, they who are the legatees of the divine law animating existence, the inheritors of truth, goodness and beauty emanating from the depths of the soul.

COMMENTS GALORE ... 27

COMMENTS GALORE ... 27

Sugata Bose @Shekhar Risbud : I am doing whatever I can to serve Hindu interests, defend the Dharma and arrest Abrahamic proselytisation. Is it not clear from my posts? Just see how no one is helping me in this mission, such a cowardly character my friends and associates consistently exhibit which itself is the cause of the weakening of the fabric of Hindu society here in India. Selfishness masquerading as spirituality, posting Swamiji's quotes and hiding behind these heroes, not having the courage to protest against atrocities on Hindus in the subcontinent, preaching piety while not even bothering to address the pernicious proselytisation problem we face in regard to Christianity and Islam---this is the summum bonum of pseudo-piety that is pervasive among the Hindus that I know. Perhaps, many valorous Hindus are there beyond my sphere of online interaction but I know them not. Those that I know of are immersed either in self-advertisement, are apathetic to the Hindu cause or are too timid to come out in the open and defend the Hindus whenever they are assaulted. There is another kind that pretends piety but are hypocritical cowards of no consequence. Consider your own case. You keep on making the same comment on my posts without any substantiation. How does it help after all? No one but myself is responding to your comments from which itself you can find out the general attitude, the terrible indifference Hindus show for their own civilisational survival while every other day they nonetheless get to hear the oppression that Hindus suffer everywhere at the hands of their cultural adversaries. So, you see, I am doing my bit, pouring water in the desert, tending the desert soil to make it fit for cultivation while my friends watch from a distance or, worse still, they do not even care to do so. They are simply too busy with their worldly and 'other-worldly' preoccupations. So, they simply disregard. If such a religion will not go to ruin, if such a people will not be perverted from their ancestral roots, what will and who will? 🕉

Sugata Bose @Parnika Bubna : Then affirm and assert your divinity which transcends all temporal considerations. Awake! Arise!

Sugata Bose @Maria Wirth : Wonderful rejoinder to that pernicious proselytisor. But why introduce the word 'miracles' at the end of your reply? I understand its intended connotation in your case but it is misleading and antithetical to the Law of Karma which is the underlying principle of all phenomena from the individual to the cosmic.

Sugata Bose @Amlan Kusum Ghosh : Please don't upset him (Riddhiman Mukhopadhyay), though, with my unsolicited service. It's a wonderful work of translation, hardly discernible as such that it is not an original writing. I have not read the original. Hence, ...'ravages of time' may be out of place. I don't know the Bengali version. Hence, you see. Please commend him on my behalf for his exhilarating exposition of literary excellence.

Sugata Bose @Suvadeep Sen : The Muslim gentleman (Muhammad Qasim) has aptly responded to Ankita Choudhury's pseudoliberal stance that is devoid of identity and character thereof. These pseudoliberals who are patently anti-Hindu need to learn their lessons from such rebuffs. Devoid of knowledge of the fundamental tenets of different faiths, armed in ignorance of historical realities beyond what have been dished out by hired historians and revelling in social levities, frothy delights of the hour in a make-believe world of fanciful ideas and fabricated truths, these heterodox humans have lost their cultural moorings in their bid to universalise their microcosmic world. Lost in the trappings of words and half-digested ideas, they are neither local nor universal but are refugees in the world of men, seeking habitat wherever their perverted fancies drive them. Self-exiled, they tread the alien territory which is unknown to them in truth but which they in their utopian conception deem as familiar terrain. Victims of superficiality, these puerile people, nonetheless, do what they do to undermine Hindu culture and whatever the renascent Hindus today are striving for. Should they know the core content of scriptural Islam and its intentions, or of Evangelical Christians who are hell-bent on the destruction of Hinduism by perfected proselytisation, they would awake to a different sense of reality, the one that truly is and not which they deem to be true in their wild fancy.

Sugata Bose @Pahari Pothik : That's the first step. Then others will follow as per Islamic intention based upon scriptural injunction. Conversion to Islam of the infidel (kafir) as the aspired end is the soul of the Dawah.

Sugata Bose @Pahari Pothik: This is a matter of grave concern and not such flippant talk.

Sugata Bose @Gobinda Chandra Mallik : Please read the interview. The photograph appended is incidental, not quite so consequential.

Sugata Bose @Vignesh Subramanian : Have you read the Qur'an and the Sahih Hadees of Bukhari and Muslim, and the Sirah? Also, Sita Ram Goel, Ram Swarup, Konrad Elst, K.S. Lal, J Sai Deepak, Sir Jadunath Sircar and, above all, 'The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda' thoroughly?

Sugata Bose @YouTube [Wion @Palki Sharma] : Most unimpressive reading from the screen in front. The tone of the newsreader smacks of arrogance. Need to learn western music yo soften tone and alter tenor.

Sugata Bose @D Srinivasa Reddy : The word 'Christ' here has been used just as a metaphor as the word 'resurrected' is inextricably linked to his personality. But the historical or mythical Christ figure is not the subject here. India must rise along her Rishi-laid line. These are figurative usages which are part and parcel of the literary exercise that lend substance and beauty to the intended meaning but are these days unfortunately misapprehended owing to declining literary standards among the masses. However, that is inevitable, considering the demographic rise in the world and the precipitation of global culture in consequence, especially with easy access to widespread technological tools of mass communication.

Sugata Bose @Vignesh Subramanian : But without reading the Islamic scriptural texts and Sita Ram Goel, Ram Swarup and the like, you will not be able to know the essence of the Islamic doctrine and Islam's manifold programmes of persecution of the infidel, its expansionist agenda in its diverse details, and its inherent intentions at its kernel. Hence, the aforesaid authors are a good guide in this regard and their literary works staple to the said discourse.

Sugata Bose @Sandeep Roy : Nalanda was burnt by Bakhtiyar Khalji, as you rightly pointed out, and not by the Mughals as you wrongly ascribed later.

Sugata Bose @Vignesh Subramanian : Yes, Swami Dayananda Saraswati did make a study of Islam and, aided by his research and subtle intellect arising out of spiritual realisation, was able to fathom the intentions of the political ideology in a large measure which in turn prompted him to set up the foundational basis of the Shuddhi Movement which has reclaimed many thousands of perverts from the Sanatan Dharma back to the fold. I appreciate your endeavour.

Sugata Bose @A devotee : A lesson that I have learnt in life that one takes care of oneself. None else does ever for good. Associations and affections are temporary as necessities rule life with pervasive self-interest dominating proceedings. This is the mean rule even as humans cooperate to build society that caters to collective well-being in the body.

Sugata Bose @YouTube [Amogh Lila Prabhu] :

IF FOOLISHNESS EVER HAD A BETTER EXPONENT

Shree Krishna was a meat-eater. Does it, my dear Amogh Lila Prabhuji, make him any less than God? So, how does fish-eating and meat-eating disqualify Swami Vivekananda from being a God-realised soul and a divine person and even the incarnation of Bhagavan Shiva?

When a person reaches the Paramahamsa state, dietary restrictions fall off. Swami Vivekananda had reached that supernal state and was free of all social or dietary bindings that are generally applicable to aspirants in the spiritual order.

When you criticise a person of no less a seminal spiritual status as that of Swami Vivekananda, it is meet that you are well-versed in his literature. Otherwise, you lose credibility as a critic as is patently your case.

Your arguments are puerile, as is evident from your non-contextual reference to Swamiji's exhorting the youth of the day to build up their physique through playing football as opposed to idle textual reading of the Geeta which is purportedly against the very message of the Lord to his friend and protÊgÊ Arjun, suddenly overcome by passivity and fear in the field of battle. Swamiji had exhorted the youth to rise up in revolution against the oppressive colonisers which in effect resulted in the Agni Yug (Age of Revolution) in Bengal and which then spread to the rest of India, eventually helping liberate India through the climactic War of Liberation of the INA II under Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, a great disciple at a distance of the cyclonic monk (Vivekananda). Such superficial knowledge or even less as you (Amogh Lila Prabhu) are exhibiting must read like childish prattle on university stuff and must be discarded as such. Your capacity to comprehend literary nuances and historical contexts, your pecuniary motivations behind stirring up needless controversy using half-baked references and surface logic, that too of your preferred sectarian kind, make you laughing-stock in the world of the Spirit (hope you understand what it all means) and do not merit response of any kind. That this reposte is still being given is to make Hindus 🕉 understand that such mercenary missionaries of the Dharma are making a mockery of its lofty philosophy and lowering the prestige of our hoary heritage before the eyes of the world.

Shree Ramachandra, Shree Krishna, Bhagavan Buddha---all were meat-eaters, Buddha dying after partaking of putrid meat of a pariah and attaining Mahanirvana. Does this make the divine trio any less divine? So, why should Vivekananda suffer such a fallen fate?

The analogy to Sri Ramakrishna's famous phrase 'Jawto mawt tawto pawth' by way of attempted travel to Australia along any random route bespeaks of your ignorance nonpareil. Australia is located at a fixed place on a geoid earth which may be approached along diverse means of conveyance but not along any random route as such. On the contrary, Truth transcendental is located at the very core/centre of phenomenal existence which may be approached along any radial route along diverse modes of purified endeavour suiting diverse temperaments and aptitudes of aspirants. Hence, the analogy falls flat.

The gesticulations and mannerisms of this supposed monk are a pointer to the decadent state of Hindu spiritual organisations such as ISKCON, and it necessitates serious reflection on our part as active members of the polity how we may redress this pernicious problem. I have a proposal to make. I hereby float the VIVEKANANDA ACADEMY, an organisation aimed at propagating the life and message of Swami Vivekananda. To the success of this enterprise I shall spend the rest of my earthly days and to this endeavour I exhort all interested individuals to contact and join me here on Facebook.

Sugata Bose @Kunal Bose with reference to his video refuting Amogh Lila Prabhu's objectionable video on Ramakrishna-Vivekananda :

IN REFUTATION OF AMOGH LILA PRABHU'S POINTS OF OBJECTION

1. Swami Vivekananda did not ask the youth not to read the Geeta but he exhorted them to play football so that their physique would be built which would facilitate their comprehension of the import of the Geeta better. He advocated active resistance to foreign rule on the battlefield of life and castigated passive piety of homebound indolent study of the Geeta thus.

2. Sri Ramakrishna's aphorism 'Jato mawt tawto pawth' ['As many faiths (belief-systems/theological or philosophical attitudes), so many paths to Truth] has been misinterpreted in terms of a proposed visit to Australia along diverse routes which will lead to different destinations other than Australia. But this is a fallacious argument. If one conceives of the spiritual universe as a sphere where aspirants of different faiths are following different radial routes gravitating to the centre, then each such route will lead to the aspired central destination of Truth. Whether all faiths are conducive to such straight travel to the core consciousness of life and Reality is a debatable point and a different discourse altogether.

3. Dietary restrictions in the spiritual path are for beginners, untrained minds, not for advanced spiritual souls, much less realized souls who have learnt how to control the forces of the body and the mind through yoga. The Paramahamsa is absolved of all such dietary restrictions, even caste restrictions, as he stands in supernal Self-realisation. Swami Vivekananda was one such sage who was grounded in the Self/Atman/Brahman. As such he could not have been subject to any dietary restriction. His spiritual status did not, therefore, in the least get diminished by his being a fish and meat-eater. Incidentally, many of our ancient Rishis were non-vegetarians as well. So were Shree Ramachandra, Shree Krishna and Bhagavan Buddha.

4. Incidentally, Swamiji himself had once said that he knew meat-eating was injurious to the life of the animal and, hence, a sinful act, but by cultural upbringing in Bengal he was a meat-eater. He further said that until progress in chemistry had made the discovery of suitable substitutes for animal flesh, it was better that abstinence from flesh-eating was not resorted to. He prophesied the gradual progression of humanity from non-vegetarianism to vegetarianism, though.

5. As far as smoking is concerned, this was but a pastime and not an intoxicant for Swamiji who had to undergo the rigours of the sannyasi's life, in monastery and beyond it as an itinerant monk. He hardly found food enough to eat, more often than not, and that also of nearly an inedible kind. Smoking remained his only luxury in a perfectly renounced life otherwise that saw him daily transcend sensory limitations in depth-meditation. He was in no way addicted to smoking. It merely stimulated him in innocent terms.

6. We must be thoroughly versed in Vivekananda literature. Otherwise, we will not be able to give pertinent replies to specific objections raised by people, such as Amogh Lila Prabhu has raised. Mere emotional response and moral tall talk will not do. Mere raising fury over teacups will not do. Rational responses are needed, not the ones that have been inadequately articulated in this video. Swamiji needs a thousand scholars to do research on him. I have floated the VIVEKANANDA ACADEMY for such a researched study of his life and works. Our work has begun. 🕉

Sugata Bose @Shaon Malik : No question of Self-realisation or Krishna bhakti for Srila Prabhupada despite his propagation of the same. Holy man? Difficult to believe he was one from the nasty remarks he has made about the greats of our modern times such as Sri Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekananda and Sri Aurobindo, and other propagators of the Sanatan Dharma such as Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Swamiji Chinmayananda and the monks of the Ramakrishna Order.

Sugata Bose @Utpal Aich :

GIRI TURNS IN GRAVE

This observation about President V.V. Giri, a reputed first citizen of India who was extraneous to the entire discourse, has been a serious faux pas on the part of the author that merits an unconditional public apology and immediate rectification of name in the narrative, for it has spread misinformation about the venerable President Giri which he did not deserve to be loaded with. Were he alive today, he surely would have brought the author and the publisher to task for it. One hopes that his kith snd kin will take up the matter with the author and the publisher, and redress this issue immediately. A delay in this regard will have serious repercussions as it will tend to perpetuate in public memory the narrative that President V.V. Giri seemed to have suddenly become over-eager to attend the Charles-Diana wedding of 1981 when in point of fact he was already by then a departed soul (President Giri had died in 1980).

Sugata Bose @Sriprakash Bhattacharya : The publisher's duty it is as well to get reviews of books done well so as to eliminate errors. Else, their credibility will be at stake.

SWAMI VIVEKANANDA AND SRI RAMAKRISHNA ON THE BENGALIS

SWAMI VIVEKANANDA AND SRI RAMAKRISHNA ON THE BENGALIS

Both Swami Vivekananda and his great Guru, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, did not have too high an opinion on the Bengalis as they were.

The physically weak and intellectually sharp Bengali, who was given to much sensory pleasure in accordance with degenerate left-handed Tantrik tradition in vogue for centuries in Bengal, did not evoke much admiration from the seminal Swami. When Lokmanya (Bal Gangadhar) Tilak visited Swamiji at Belur Math in 1901, the latter even in jest asked the former to exchange location for the furtherance of their mutual work for the country. Swamiji suggested that he, having failed to enthuse the timid Bengali in fiery nationalism, would settle in the Bombay Presidency where the valorous Marathas (courtesy, Shivaji, Phirozshah Phadke and Tilak) were already aflame with the call to revolution, and Tilak could resettle in the dead Bengal Presidency and fire up the docile Bengalis with his vigorous message of nationalism. Elsewhere, Swamiji in his private conversations and correspondence would call these masses of sensate people cowards, effeminate and what not. He had deep respect for Shivaji and his inspiring Guru, Samarth Ramdas. Swamiji's manliness and his warrior valour, even as a sage of the highest spiritual altitude, were in sharp contrast to the cowardly character of the Bengali background he hailed from, a characteristic which has further been accentuated by succeeding developments in the community post-independence.

Such was Swamiji's aversion to cowardice and effeminacy that he often derided his great brother disciples and his own disciples for exhibiting them. In letter after letter he is seen rousing his countrymen to life and action by shedding unmanliness and rising to the call of sociocultural revolution whose basis was to be founded in the Upanishads of sublime strength of the soul. His 'Svadesh Mantra' encapsulates his message to rising India, a message loaded in Hindu nationalism with roots deep in the Vedas, for which he has been cast aspersions on by leftist historians as being a Hindu nationalist. To this end his Bengali brethren have made their seminal contribution, theirs being today the role, as if assigned by Providence, to malign every move and movement that conduces to the well-being of the Hindus and in consequence the nation.

Swamiji had said, "I have traversed the whole world but have not come across a race possessed of such a fine brain as the Bengali, but what he lacks in muscle." In other words, the Bengali is capable of fine conception and poor execution which is why Swamiji so stressed his triple-H formula of 'head, heart and hand' which he deemed as imperative attributes for all great work. Swamiji was often given to reinterpreting ancient scriptural verses (shlokas) to infuse manhood into his countrymen, more especially into his Bengali brethren. He would say, "Naaymatma balaheenena labhya" and would explain its meaning thus: None who was without physical strength was equipped to realise the Atman (Self). When the disciple in discussion (Sharatchandra Chakrabarty) dissented, saying that the commentator (Shankaracharya) had interpreted 'balaheenena' to mean 'devoid of brahmacharya', Swamiji retorted saying that the physically weak were incapable of acquiring the wherewithal for the realisation of the Atman. Brahmacharya or continence was a far cry for one who was of a weak constitution. Such reinterpretation of scripture was, of course, the domain of an Acharya of Swamiji's stature, his mission in life whereby he could reestablish the Sanatan Dharma with reference to the current Age and its specific requirements.

Swamiji did succeed in firing up the revolutionaries of Bengal post his Mahasamadhi which led to the effective start of revolutionary movement throughout India in due course, the revolutionaries of Bengal carrying the Geeta and Swamiji's books with them ever while rendering him Godlike reverence, but the treatment he received in his lifetime from contemporary Bengali leaders of thought was despicable. Pratap Chunder Mozoomdar outright maligned him in America in deplorable terms that went to the extent of calling him a man of low morals (I will say no further and leave it to you to research and find out). He ganged up with the Theosophists and the adversarial Christian missionaries to oppose Swamiji's propagation of the Vedanta in America at every bend and turn. Newspaper reports came out in consequence of such malicious propaganda which spread the false accusations far and wide but no response by way of defence of Swamiji came from Bengal or anywhere in India despite Swamiji's repeated requests for such. In letter after letter he exhorted his disciples and associates to garner support for him in India by calling for a meeting of leading lights and yhe common man and thence send forth to him newspaper clippings of the reports on such a meeting. This, he said, the American newspapers would publish widely that would quell all suspicions about his identity and representative status on behalf of the Hindus which was then much in question in America, courtesy his carping critics among which Mozoomdar numbered. But no such meeting was held, no newspaper report in support of Swamiji accordingly went and Swamiji, frustrated with his disciples, associates, colleagues and countrymen, was left to lament this loss of initiative on their part. Alone he stood in enemy terrain, Prophet of the West, bruised and battered but blessing nonetheless his bigoted adversaries and emerging with triumphant with message delivered but with health shattered for good which took him away from the world before he touched forty.

Sri Ramakrishna thought the Kolkata of his days to be a city inhabited by worldly people with hardly much spiritual propensity. As such he wondered how Narendranath (later, Vivekananda) could have been born in such an unspiritual place.

In his discussions with his devotees at Dakshineshwar Sri Ramakrishna said that the people of Kolkata were hyperenthusiastic about things, but only for a while. Thereafter, their enthusiasm subsided in much the manner it had arisen. Kolkatans neither had the patience nor the perseverance to pursue a line of action to fulfilment to which end he gave the following illustration. Ramakrishna observed that the people of Kolkata would dig for water at a place for a while but would perhaps strike rocks only whereupon they would leave the location and start digging elsewhere. Here as well failing to find water after a brief digging, they would shifting site again and come to the same consequence. These people did not even know that only upon deep digging would water, the fluid that sustained life, be found. This parable not only has deep philosophical  significance in general but is also a pointer to the shallowness of intelligence, superficiality of understanding, feebleness of purpose, weakness of will and scattered attention that characterises the average Bengali despite his much-sounded self-proclamation.

A SIGNIFICANT EMAIL

A SIGNIFICANT EMAIL

Dear Parnika,

Blessed one, be great. It is good to correspond and correspond often, for in the frequency of communication lies the affirmation of the bond that hold individuals together and society in consequence as well.

The human species is gregarious by nature and has thus overtime formed societies which have learned to live together in peace and in war, but live they do, nonetheless, if even to fight each other out of existence, following primeval propensities arising out of Darwinian compulsions.

As evolution in the spiritual plane makes its mark, harmonious coexistence is coming about, slowly but surely, and man is learning to love and live in more peaceful terms. Terms, I say, because as yet that bargaining, that selfish deal between individuals and between groups whose largest conglomerate seems to be the nation and even a confederacy of nations, holds its sway over human affairs. But the dawn at last is breaking on the eastern horizon and the early streaks of light streaming through bear tidings of a sunnier morn before the high noon of civilisation raises man unto a higher spiritual altitude en masse whose radiance in collective glory will put to shame all those Abrahamic religions of tribal origin that have taught man the animal way of eliminating each other en route to a postmortem heaven of eternal bliss. Such a heaven on earth it shall be here on earth when the utterances of the Vedic sages will be vindicated and in integrated, cooperative, loving coexistence at not a compromised level of tolerance but at the depth and height of inward spiritual insight humans will bide terrestrial time as glorious gods and goddesses before they in cyclical fulfilment of earthly life return to the realm of freedom whence they in Mayic bondage had appeared.

All these developments have the fundamental gregarious element of man working through and through as the subterranean current of life with communication in cooperative mode as its essential factor. Isolated, man perishes in an unduly harsh natural environment. But the moment he combines, his victorious march over Nature begins, at first in terminal terms---for Nature destroys man the moment he rebels against it---but later, with greater understanding of the workings of this unconscious giant mechanism, his victory is sealed with soul-force winning its wars over dead material brutality.

So in the world of his own self, in individual and collective terms, animality gives way to humanity and humanity makes way for divinity to emerge. Through this long march of man, he forms kinship with fellow men and forms an army of warriors wedded to death to triumph over Nature and win for posterity a field where flowers shall bloom and vegetation grow after his own heart that cater to his earthly survival, both in physical and in cultural terms.

As wealth generates, man turns upon himself now, as if in delayed predatorial vengeful action, fighting each other in groups and clans, tribes and nations, confederacies of such, till the earth, green and menacing, has altered hue to become grey and dangerous. We have arrived at a critical period of terrestrial evolution when either we perish wholesale and seek our exit through the 'cosmic drain' (courtesy, Marie Lousie Burke) or we bend upwards at this asymptote and start a fresh phase of divine living.

If cooperation be comprehensive and comprehension of life truly catholic, we will bend upwards this time, for the energy emanating from eternal India seems to have crossed the critical mark whereby such an upward motion will be possible against the cumulative gravitating forces of the dark (tamas).

To that end then let us work, and what better way may it be than to communicate ideas, mutual messages that affirm and strengthen bonds, lend solidarity to a humanity much fractured along age-old faultlines that need mending and, if not, then rising above them unto more wholesome planes where they do not exist.

This has been my small message of much significance. Read well and read deep lest the meaning even in part be lost.

Yours ever in Thakur-Ma-Swamiji,

Gurudev.

HAPPY 100TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY, BABA!

HAPPY 100TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY, BABA!

My father, Late Sri Santosh Bose, is 100 years old today. He was born on 26 June, 1923. He died on 18 July, 1996. This is a special day in our family's life. My love, private it ought to have been, and reverence, public that it has now become, I offer the one who I owe my life to and whose so many traits I proudly share but find myself woefully short in so many other glorious attributes that he possessed.

BE ROOTED IF YOU WISH TO SHOOT

BE ROOTED IF YOU WISH TO SHOOT

Rootedness and novelty admixed provide the spring of civilisation. If you believe you can shoot without firm footing in your roots, you are headed for civilisational destruction as many past civilisations have by their glorious fleeting existence on earth testified.

Civilisational identity comes over ages and forms the bedrock of a people's onward march. Our identity lies in our Vedic roots and our progress must necessarily lie along the track laid down by our Rishis of yore. The blueprint they have provided for posterity is succinctly articulated in the Geeta and elaborately expounded in our Puranas, the Upanishads ever forming the philosophical basis for such a terrestrial lay-out. Succeeding generations of sages and saints, Avatars and Acharyas have further expounded on these early expositions, deepened our cultural roots and exemplified through their lustrous lives how we ought to conduct ourselves as a civilisation. We must study their instances and make good the promise of our earliest civilisational beginnings by way of contributing our ploughshare to the life of the world. This is the mission of the Hindu race.

The world is in terrible turmoil today as it transits in phases from medieval modes to modernity. The ancient propensity for warfare holds man even today, the tribal instinct further accentuated by inordinate capitalistic greed, the lust for power propelled by his possession of modern arms. The environment is being destroyed in a manner that future habitation on earth will be a difficult deal indeed. And yet this savage ravaging of the earth's resources is carrying on, not so much to support a burgeoning global population but to appease the ever-increasing greed of the capitalist, and crony capitalist at that, who rules the destiny of nations. All this has led humanity to the current state of predator-prey relation where the strong tyrannise over the weak and vast populations die so that a privileged few may live. Here the Hindus have their contribution to make towards making the world a more humane place, a habitat of peace, light and love.

But who is a Hindu? Is he the anti-Hindu bigot who is no more than a titular Hindu, whose sole purpose is to ally himself with all anti-Hindu forces in the name of leftist liberalism and godless secularism? Is he the hodgepodge of hererodoxy who lives in abysmal ignorance of his sublime civilisational roots but proceeds to pronounce, nonetheless, on the future course humanity ought to take en route to the millenium, the utopia he fancies as the civilisational destiny of mortal man? Is he the cultural cross-breed who is attempting to usher in a new world civilisation with fantastic materialistic ideas that cannot brook Hinduism in any virile form anyway?

It does not work that way, my friend. A materialistic philosophy grounded purely in dated facts and reason with subtle insight into the spiritual heart of things missing, which is in contradiction with modern scientific findings which are more in consonance with Vedic philosophy than with that of Marx or any kith and kin of his, cannot be the basis of the Hindu's life, nor now nor in the future. The Hindu finds nourishment and strength in his pristine Vedic philosophy and therein he must remain rooted if he has to shoot to substance in the world. Cut him off from his spiritual roots and you will have killed him. Is that what you want, the destruction of Hinduism, the Hindus and Bharatvarsha with it? Brother, it shall never be. The Hindu, despite your seductive talk of a promising modernity, your carping criticism of everything hailing from India's antiquity, you vociferous denunciation of the divides that plague Hindu society, will never en masse listen to you, although you may get the odd convert to your materialistic mode hither and thither. The bulk of the Hindus are yet vibrating to the pulse of the Vedas. They will reject you.

We have not yet lost our links to our roots en masse primarily because of our masses who are culturally bound to their Vedic roots coming to them in the guise of local cultures that have embedded in their practices pristine philosophical principles, if only we care to delve deeply into them. This has been the hallmark and strength of our civilisation, this democratisation of lofty spiritual philosophy through local retelling in the form of Puranic narratives from which diverse folklore have emerged and diffused the essential message of the Rishis into the bloodstream of common humanity.

And here, O modern reformer of suspicious intent, do you want to strike your axe to sever the umbilical link of these simple rustic folk with their mother, the Sanatan culture that is native to them? Is this your strategy of saving the masses from all forms of erstwhile exploitation by destroying them altogether? If the masses are cut off from the soil that nourishes them, they will die, and a dead man does not suffer exploitation. Is that your intended end then, your master Marxist Machiavellian manouvre? What has been its result in nations where you have tried it and at what a human cost? It won't work in India, brother, as you well know from your failed attempts so far. The Hindus are predominantly spiritual and they will remain so. Your attempts to seduce them into giving up the religion of their forefathers will not work. Yours is an exercise doomed from the very start. So, rectify means and align yourselves with the Sanatan Dharma. Do not break India brick by brick by forming an alliance with anti-India Islamic and Christian forces or any other neocolonial break-India force emanating from the West.

India has suffered a thirteen century long ravaging by Islamic invaders and Euro-Christian colonisers which has left it deeply wounded as a civilisation, to borrow the idea from V.S. Naipaul who called it 'A Wounded Civilisation'. Continuous invasion by barbarous Islamic hordes from the deserts of Arabia and infusion of toxic ideology into the bloodstream of the Hindus created a civilisational chaos in India from which we have yet to recover. This was followed up by brutal colonisation by the Portuguese who inflicted on the Hindus the Inquisition of barbaric proportions. The Dutch, the Danes, the English and the French followed, carrying on with their Christian conversion of an innocent population while draining them of resources to the marrow. 45 trillion dollars the British alone plundered, impoverishing a prosperous India while building Britain from economic scratch in the bargain. The intolerant toxicity of Islam, the rape of resources by Christian Europe and the Macaulay Effect on Indian education have left their corrosive mark so deep on the psyche of the Hindus that masses of them, other than converting to the proselytising Abrahamic faiths, have lost their Hindu identity otherwise, their link to their foundational civilisational roots. This is borne out daily by the fact that educated Hindus keep hitting out at Hinduism, at Hindu society and at the Hindus themselves for this and that maliciously when they ought to be defending their home under attack from proselytising political outfits with a worldwide operational network. Such rootless Hindus, molested for a millenium by invasive ideologies, are today verily the victims of the Stockholm Syndrome.

The upper class educated Hindus, especially the leftist-minded Bengalis, have touched their civilisational nadir and need to go upswing necessarily if they are not to go down the cosmic drain. Should they fail to rectify stance, they certainly will be extinct, I say, in the much the same way as Swamiji had predicted about the very same class then, setting the time as being 'within three generations'. History will avenge this wrongdoing of the pseudosecular cowardly liberals for failing to defend their civilisational citadels. This will come to pass verily by the Law of Karma.

But the bulk of the Hindus are the toiling masses and they must be tended well and trained to defend the Dharma. Herein lies all force, all power, all grace. The masses must not be allowed to be perverted from the Sanatan Dharma to Islam or Christianity or Communism or any other anti-Hindu movement. They must be physically, vitally, psychologically, intellectually and spiritually well nourished so that they become the bulwark of our defence against invasive toxic ideologies bent upon destroying India's age-old spiritual culture.

Hindus must be trained to defend their Dharma. The average Hindu has scant knowledge of his faith. All that he knows about his religion are some vague unconnected ideas whose symbolism or deeper philosophical import he is unaware of. Here we have work to do.

Each and every Hindu must be taught Sanskrit from childhood. For this education must be made affordable and easily accessible. Large numbers of schools, colleges and universities must be established where the mother language (Sanskrit) must be taught. A people proficient in Sanskrit will be a linguistically uplifted one who can then study the Sanatan scriptures first-hand and even seminal literary works of Kalidasa, Banbhatta and the like. This will raise the culture of the land and self-confidence with it. It will also sharpen the intellect and help build character which is the effective sum and resolution of all mental impressions. The sublime spiritual works of the Sanatan Dharma are almost all written in the Devabhasha (divine language), Sanskrit, and reading these will fill the brain with lofty ideas tending to purify the mind-stuff and invigorate the overall being. Culture rising, consciousness will rise and a self-conscious people will know how to defend their civilisation. So, education is the key. Herein lies the solution to the Hindus' problems and herein lies the means for the defence of the Dharma.

But what kind of education must it be? The modern western education which Hindus are eagerly lapping up for worldly benefits or the ancient Hindu system of the Gurukul which was geared to the integrated development of the pupil with the spiritual objective of liberation from the transmigratory cycle of birth and rebirth as the ultimate aim? Or, ought education for the modern Hindu to be a synthesis of the Sanatan Dharma and western science for the dual development of body and soul?

MESSAGES GALORE ... 45

MESSAGES GALORE ... 45

1. If fools abound in this world seeking proof that the sun shines light on the earth, then they should school themselves better in experience and relevant data instead of indolently asking others to provide such. Guess the meaning if you can. Then I shall call you a perceptive reader.

2. The Jews are the most intelligent people in the world and historically one of the worst persecuted along with the Hindus.

3. Subjugated for 1300 years by Islam, how will the 'secular' Hindu remember his roots? He has been struck by the Stockholm Syndrome. Alas, he has lost his identity!

4. What is the future of West Bengal and Kerala where progressive Islamisation is going on through immigration and toxic proselytisation?

5. Wife-beating under any pretext is reprehensible even if it has Divine sanction. This is foul patriarchy in religious guise.

6. As Hindus do not carry your religious obligation to maintaining the purity of food to ridiculous levels. Be hygienic, that's all.

7. Deception carried to extreme can hardly be deemed a religious attribute. And, yet, it is, and is practised to perfection to further the religions cause.

8. We, Hindus, worship the cow and do not eat it. Without trying to sound supremacist, we are in truth the most civilised spiritual race in the world and the least violent.

9. Our problems are internal, limited to within our complex social fabric where indeed we find tensions and inequalities. But we do not extend them to beyond our boundaries. We do not persecute other people, other races,  religions, cultures. We are a peace-loving people content to solving the riddle of existence rather than busying ourselves in cutting the throats of people who differ with our religious realisations, beliefs, practices. We have learnt from ancient times the sanctity of life. Hence, we are non-violent. But when infringed upon too much, we also know how to deal a telling blow in self-defence. Our dharma differs from the Abrahamic concept of belief-bound faith. It is based on the discoveries of spiritual principles by spiritual scientists called Rishis. These principles are beginningless and endless, subtle as they are and transcending time. Hence, their conglomerate collection called the Vedas are also beginningless and endless and are co-equal with God who is the highest development of these ideas and is the unmanifest-manifest Being.

10. Our dharma is a tradition in much the manner of the scientific tradition. As such no dogma binds it or its adherents. Investigation into Truth is its life force and rational scepticism its method. Where it goes a step further than science is that dharma keeps its doors of investigation open to both the external and the internal world. Modern psychology also does not go as deep as the psychology of the Sanatan Dharma goes. It dives deep into the internal world of man and attempts to arrive at the roots of consciousness en route to its very root in the Being which is called for linguistic reasons the Brahman and the Atman.

11. Everywhere men are indoctrinated into irrational stuff masquerading as spirituality. This is hampering the natural progress of man.

12. Be at your best and you will be the best.

13. A God who punishes His children with eternal burning in Hellfire is no God of mercy or of love. He is a tyrant. He is no God at all.

14. Learn about Islam. Imperative of the hour. Ignorance will be grief. đŸ•‰

15. In the melee of life, in its clashes and conflicts, the essential purpose of life must not be lost - God-realisation.

Our father's 100th birth anniversary went off very well. Meeting of kindred minds, delightful discussion, prayer meeting, a song sung by my sister, reminiscence by my brother-in-law, jokes, mimicry done by me, delightful dinner et all. A lovely evening, one that will remain etched in our memory forever. Memorable, memorable occasion!

19. Savage conceptions of hell must be rejected in the 21st century. Reject hell altogether and be free of fear. Do not make life on earth itself hell by believing in its existence hereafter.

20. Let not the scriptures frighten you. Override them and affirm your divinity. You are greater than any tyrant God of archaic conception. You are divine.

21. Do not remain captive within your sect. Break free and look around. The sun shines everywhere.

22. When the heart is rent and the body turns toxic, Mother, come to me as abiding love.

23. A simple soul is at peace. Our complexities unsettle us ever, making our selves a warfield.

24. Arrogance has its counterpart---ignorance.

25. Painful is the path of the vain.

26. Apathy has its pathetic end---loss of love, lonesomeness.

27. If love be dished out by God on a silver platter, reject it not. It may take aeons to recover it.

28. The loving soul heals. The loving soul cuts the corrosive bonds of life. The loving soul frees.

29. At times this old body, this warworn mind can bear no more. Then silent weeps the soul seeking deliverance.

30. Man is gregarious. Yet, he lives alone within a multitude of crowding souls. From the alone to the Alone marks the march of man.

31. The egotist cannot see God. Truth hides its face from the vain.

32. Sometimes a callous weariness descends on the soul when it cannot even feel pain but in a desperate last bid seeks a sinking into peace.

33. Sympathetic souls are rare. And, yet, such souls in unison do great deeds that lighten the burden of life.

34. Ramakrishna is the resolution of the ages, the summum bonum of past spirituality and future possibilities worked out in a mould of bliss in the present moment.

35. Trust none but that final friend who has never left you since primal times.

36. The message falls flat, the picture holds.

37. Where does vanity lead one? Into the ditch.

38. The easiest way to be spiritually alive is to be in the presence of holy men, and who is holier than Sri Ramakrishna and his entourage of disciples and devotees that we to our delight discover in 'The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna'? Let us read the Gospel daily, especially before retiring for the night, and live in the presence of the Divine as we change phase from wakefulness to dream and deep sleep. Perchance, the fourth state of transcendence may open up for us and lift our spirit to its eternal abode. 🕉

40. Where pleasure is pain, there pain is pleasure.

41.

Ram Swarup (left) and Sita Ram Goel (right)---the intellectual kshatriyas who exposed the malevolent designs of the anti-Hindu forces long before today's crop of defenders of the faith were even born.

42. Do not be cowardly in your disposition nor callous to pertinent observation. That betrays your shallowness.

43.

A much misunderstood man but a man of epic proportions. [Reference made to Raja Rammohun Roy]

44.

How can bodybound atheists understand the splendour of the soul that was Vivekananda?

45. Swamiji said, "Remember, women and the masses." Remember to help raise them, to free them from sufferance under tyranny and allow the free expression of their faculties for their fullest fulfilment. Then alone will India rise. Then alone will the world rise.

46. Study Swami Vivekananda everyday. This is vital for individual development and collective security.

47. What is the purpose of Dawah in Islam? Conversion.

48.

Never forget the contribution the Sikhs made to defending the Hindus. The fifth Sikh Guru Arjan Devji is here seen being burnt alive under orders from Mughal Emperor Jahangir for the Guru having given refuge to his rebellious son Prince Khusrau during the latter's war with his father.

49.

This Bengali monk did not meditate so deep for Bengalis of the day to be so shallow. Time to give up flippancy and study the Swami for a resurrection of our Sanatan culture in real terms.

50. Hindus have no clear conception of the designs of their ideological foes, and yet they glibly talk so much.

51. She is gone; her voice rings through the corridors of time.

52. There is yet time. A life must be given to save life. Humanity must be raised, resurrected unto divinity. Christ is not one but all of humanity must become Christ, not through the crucifixion in the flesh and the rising in the body unto Heaven but through the subduing of the identity with the flesh and the sublimation of the self unto the Self (Atman ).

53. Ramakrishna lives in the copper urn (Atmaramer Kouto) where he of his own volition lies captive, while his 'followers' rule free of his control, oblivious of his presence, neglectful of his core teaching of renunciation of the copper coin. His message does not spread in adequate terms while the world burns. Will he come again to set right the order, to douse the flames of enmity that burn the world, to ignite humanity afresh with the sparks of purity, peace and enlightenment? Must a Vivekananda visit earth alongside to redirect the world?

54. It is the age of mass enlightenment; it is the age of gross ignorance. Like Dickens recalling the times of the French Revolution, one must say, the contradictions of the times are extreme. The times are ripe for a great upheaval of ideas. The old order of Christian stranglehold on society passed during the French churn. The old order of Islamic throttle will pass now. Humanity is awaking, arising unto a newer self-proclamation, a newer self-incarnation. The Vedanta will have its way in real terms en masse in pockets of the world. But masses of men must lend their arms to pulling this chariot of the gods. Ramakrishna must not leave core habitat in the copper urn but must create a dynamic self in society. He must rule the order and not allow the order to be ruled by men deliberately neglectful of his core principles and directions.

55. France burns.

56. Why does France burn? Who fuels the fire from behind? What is the philosophy governing it?

57. Religiosity + Impurity = Fanatical Violence

58. Why is it that the Ramakrishna Mission does not aggressively preach Swami Vivekananda's life and works across the wide world?

59. Left liberalism in alliance with rising Islam, courtesy immigration, will destroy Europe. France is burning and the fire spreads.

60. Blessings attend those who excel in work and are peaceful. đŸ•‰

61. ISKCON does not accept Sri Ramakrishna as God-incarnate, as the reincarnation of Shree Ram and Shree Krishna.

62. After Amogh Lila Prabhu will ISKCON ban their founder Srila Prabhupada as well for consistently passing derogatory remarks using indecent language against Ramakrishna, Vivekananda and the Ramakrishna Mission monks, and for making unfounded abhorrent observations contrary to fact on the divine duo? Then whither ISKCON?

63. What Ramakrishna Mission has done, ISKCON has failed to do, and what ISKCON has done, Ramakrishna Mission has failed to do.

64. The ochre robe represents renunciation. Reflect if it is being misworn. Is money becoming a dominant factor in spiritual life?

65. ISKCON belongs to Sri Ramakrishna as well who is Sri Krishna after all as all enlightened people know. Likewise, Ramakrishna Mission belongs to Sri Krishna as well who is Sri Ramakrishna after all as Thakur himself has testified. So, devotees of both organisations, end sectarian quarrel and Hindus en masse unite to defend the Sanatan Dharma against Abrahamic (Islamic and Christian) proselytisation and leftist/communist/secularist attacks! 🕉

66.

The same Chaitanya Mahaprabhu came as Ramakrishna Paramahamsa to expand the base of spiritual understanding and propagation thereof. Vaishnavas had become intolerant overtime and had lost the vast heart which Mahaprabhu manifested. Hence, the Lord descended again as Paramahamsadev to rectify the common spiritual stance and establish harmony.

67. When Srila Prabhupada called Sri Ramakrishna names, he scarce realised that he was abusing his own Ishtadev Shree Krishna and Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, for these divine personalities had in this modern age reincarnated as Sri Ramakrishna as was revealed to Swami Vivekananda and many others.

68. The Government of India must free all Hindu institutions from governmental control just as they do for minority religions. The Ramakrishna Mission had opted for minority status to free itself of such governmental inference in their institutions. If such interference by the then Left Front Government had not been, the court case seeking minority status for Ramakrishna Mission would never have been as well.

69. The beauty of the Ramakrishna Mission is that it is the friend of all and the enemy of none.

70. Why is the % population of Hindus decreasing in Bangladesh by the day?

71.

Up is height and down is depth,

And the twain forever do meet.

72. I cannot argue with people who entertain illusory ideas about Islam. Read the Qur'an, the Hadees and the Sirah, then argue.

73. Today, it seems, ISKCON is the only Hindu organisation that is doing aggressive missionary work in the world. Hare Krishna!

74. Commend ISKCON for making hundreds of thousands of new Hindus in the world. Do not condemn your own ones. đŸ•‰

75. All Hindu organisations, unite! Do not fruitlessly fight. 🕉

76. Do not let adversaries divide the Hindus to suit their nefarious ends. Hindus, cast aside petty differences and unite for the greater cause!

77. āĻšিāĻ¨্āĻĻু āĻœাāĻ—āĻ›ে | āĻŦিāĻাāĻœāĻ¨ে āĻŦিāĻ¨āĻˇ্āĻŸ āĻ•āĻ°āĻŦেāĻ¨ āĻ¨া āĻ āĻœাāĻ—āĻ°āĻŖ | āĻ¸ংāĻ˜āĻŦāĻĻ্āĻ§ āĻšোāĻ¨ | 🕉

78. What is the fundamental principle that determines the identity of a Hindu spiritual organisation?

79. Seeking and doubting are the seeds of civilisation.

80. We need the zealous spread of our Dharma. For this we need enthusiasm, joy and sympathy that will ignite, hold and spread the movement. The senses which are running amock and ruining our lives must be checked and channelised into the service of the Lord and made instruments for propagation of the divine message.

India, eternal India, holds the key and must deliver the world out of its manifold maladies by bringing out the treasures that lie in her sacred books and deluging humanity with its life-giving waters. This is the message of our spiritual masters who have trodden this holy land, Punyabhumi Bharatvarsha. This is the inspiration we derive from Swami Vivekananda in more modern times which we must give form and shape to. 🕉

81. Read Vivekananda, think Vivekananda, dream Vivekananda.

82. Character must be such that words issuing from the lips will be irresistibly infectious and will draw minds to higher realms.

83.

Brahman or the Absolute Existence-Consciousness-Bliss is the transcendental basis of phenomena, the source of all life and the foundation of the Sanatan Dharma. Here immersed in superconsciousness is the sage of modern times, Swami Vivekananda, about whom it was said that he was 'young in years but ages in civilisation'.

84. I want to die unto eternal life. Death of desire and love of God is the way.

85. What Srila Prabhupada has done in the West is unprecedented. He has implanted Vedic culture in the modern West. Unbelievable!

However, in the name of the spiritual history of Bharatvarsha Srila Prabhupada has preached a lot of gibberish, utterly unhistorical. For instance he says that 5000 years ago Maharaj Parikshit was the emperor of the whole world and he ruled it from Hastinapur which is modern Delhi. This is utter nonsensical stuff bearing no historical corroboration and is patently false. Prabhupada is ignorant of world history.

87. The Sanatan Dharma in its pristine form must be preached in the world without diluting content by inserting superstition.

88. Prabhupāda's fundamental premise of goodness is faith-based and not reason-based which is problematic.

89. The crooked can never realise God.

90. Swamiji remains till date the greatest exponent of the Sanatan Dharma in modern times. No other preacher comes anywhere close to him.

91. Simplicity of living and sublimity of thinking ('simple living, high thinking', as the adage goes) is the way.

92. Love connects people, multiplies force, builds up a movement, integrates society. Love is the manifestation of humanity.

93. Properly punctuated sentences make for a better read. Do end your sentences with a full-stop at least.

94. Carelessness cannot be the progenitor of perfection.

95. Commerce is not spirituality. Spiritual organisations need not run after money the way they do.

96. Go against what Sri Ramakrishna taught and you will go down the slope of spirituality.

97. Fools fail to see through the outer form of God disguised as man. And even fools are gods in the making.

98. Truthfulness is the foundation of character. It eventually leads to the realisation of the Absolute Truth.

99. Srila Prabhupada has made a mockery of the Vedic philosophy, preaching a dualistic creed in an irrational way. He calls the apparel of a person the imperson and likens it to the Impersonal God while calling God the Supreme Person. This is the inversion of the Vedanta. However, it must be said in context that he was explaining in simple terms the abstruse dualistic philosophy of Gaudiya Vaishnavism to a lay audience but it was a stupendous inversion of the Vedanta nonetheless.

100. In all my life I have read a few books but not found any set that was more comprehensive in its coverage of all the major issues affecting humanity than 'The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda'. None more uplifting, invigorating and inspiring as well.
